The suspect accused of killing three people in an attack on a Planned Parenthood in Colorado was once a happy father and art dealer who painted and listened to rock music, a report has revealed. Robert Dear, 57, who allegedly burst into the clinic in Colorado Springs on Friday and opened fire, was a recluse who moved to a remote cabin in the state a year ago, his neighbors have told Daily Mail Online. But a new report by the New York Times has revealed that Dear was once a happily married family man who lived with his wife and son in South Carolina. Since his 2000 divorce, Dear seems to have declined into a loner who lives in a remote cabin, seeking bondage and sadomasochistic sex online and smoking marijuana.

i’m from NYC/USSR so what do i know, but from what I remember reading, states that respect the 2nd amendment have no more gun crime than those that dont.
Police officers become desensitized to violence because of their job. ER doctors are detached from the violence they see every day. Take a person who was raised without love and respect for life, or who has sociopathic tendencies and put them in the same situation and you have the recipe for a serial killer or mass murderer.
Japan understands and has long understood that violence has a place. They also understand that people who use violence as a means to personal ends should have violence thrust upon them.
There isn’t a lot of violence there in the realworld because they don’t oussyfoot around like we do under liberalism. Even the Yakuza, some of the most violent crime orgs ever, have toned it back considerably compared to what they used to do.
While violent media will desensitize people to actual violence, it ALSO desensitizes them to the reaction TO violence.
Consider: Liberal snowflakes thing everything is solvable through rainbows and unicorns. Their world is filled with nothing but violence and chaos as a result.
People who live in small towns with guns and little care for what happens to poor little victimized criminals very rarely have to resort to violence. Because the criminal knows he could end up in a mineshaft if the people catch him before the cops do.
So they go to easier targets.
In japan, outside the cities, it is very rural and criminals tend to disappear. a lot.
Psychiatric drugs and/or past illicit drug use are most likely the #1 external cause for these types of actions. The internal cause is like you said a moral deficiency.
Comparing the effects of cultural influences and mentalities in Japan and in various U.S. states with regards to violent crime just isn't possible. "East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet," you know.

The only logical conclusion I can come up with is, art dealing mixed with pot smoking and sex leads to mass murder...see mainstream media? This is easy to do.
I think the other issue is Japan is a very homogenous society so racial strife is very rare. Japan also values hard work and personal achievement. If someone wants something they will work hard to get it, not simply take it from someone else.

There’s something a lot of people forget with all the psych meds. Remember the ‘Ritalin Kids’ of the 90s? This guy was outside that age range but a lot of these thrill killer types are EXACTLY those ritalin kids.
And as you suggest, this guy was very likely on psychotropics, antipsychotics or other mood stabilizers after an incident that depressed him to a life of a cabin in the woods hermit. Not a guarantee, but the odds would surely favor that.

My own feeling is that this moron was on another mission, rather then attacking Planned Parenthood. HIs caper & plan went bad....so, he ran into PP for cover and protection from the police & others. Not really. When a victim of violence comes into ER they see them strictly and 100 percent as a patient that needs care. Only after they have done their best to save them do they consider why they are in their ER with a gunshot or knife wound.
Another mass shooter who used Marijuana and/or other psychotropic drugs (traces found in their blood after their rampages).
