I've thought this for a long time. All we hear is how we can't do this or we can't do that because it's a violation of the Geneva Convention.

Doesn't the GC prohibit combatants from running around in civilian clothes?

I thought that by not wearing a uniform, you were considered a spy and as such you could be immediately shot.
