He was married, with two young children, and had been on the campus police force for six years. He also spent seven years as a co-pastor at Hope Chapel in Colorado Springs. âHereâs a guy who worked full time as a police officer, and then gave a great amount of time to his local church and didnât get a dime for it,â said Scott Dontanville, a co-pastor who knew Officer Swasey for 15 years. âHe did it because it was the thing that he felt he needed to do.â
Kurt Aichele, a co-pastor at the church and a close friend, said Officer Swasey was once a nationally ranked figure skater and ice dancer and moved to Colorado Springs years ago to train.
Mr. Aichele said Officer Swasey frequently responded to dangerous calls off campus. One of his bedrock beliefs was putting other peopleâs lives before his own, Mr. Aichele said.

I have been there. I have relatives in western CO. I suspect that he had come from a bank, as they mentioned. I don’t put it past CNN and CBS to change the narrative to suit their cause.

Sadly, we have more than our share of police-haters here on FR, so many despise the police, advocate NEVER talking to them (even to report a crime) and feel most are JBTs.
