The Commerce Department said Wednesday non-defense capital goods orders excluding aircraft, a closely watched proxy for business spending plans, increased 1.3 percent last month after an upwardly revised 0.4 percent rise in September. Wages and salaries shot up 0.6%, the largest increase since May. The increase matched expectations.
That rate of change illustrates acceleration from the 0.2 percent increase in September, but falls in line with the rate of change throughout the summer of 2015, indicating little hint of a strong acceleration in wage growth.
Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $15.2 billion, or 0.1 percent, consistent with the previous month.
Income rose 0.4% in October while spending ticked up 0.1%. Thus the anemic growth in PCE, which has fallen from 0.3% in June of this year to 0.1% in September and October, may represent the beginning of a further downward trend.
"People don't spend the windfall from lower heating bills and falling gas prices immediately, so the combination of these factors and the rebound in incomes... drove the saving rate up to a three-year high of 5.6 percent", Shepherdson said.

I used my windfall to buy a larger chocolate ration.
Considering that health care expenses are usually included in the consumer spending formula, this report is more than horrendous.
“unexpected”
Local news reports today about Black Friday sales were not great.
Guess they're hoarding it
It’s going to be weak in November and December also but who is to tell? The Government lies with little backlash.
Tricare Life and Medicare went up, Tricare cop-pays for medicine. Some hospitals are starting to charge us for the drugs they use. Even the VA charges for them, even if all you get is 4 anti-biotics to get 5 teeth pulled you are charged for a full 30 supply.
NO COLA raise for 2016.
High food cost

I do my shopping online at Amazon, I use the Smile Program as then St. Jude’s Children’s Cancer Hospital gets a small portion of the sale.
I’ve not bought much, as every thing is last year’s models, still to expensive, and just not what I want is on their Black Friday deals.
I did buy a Ret. Navy SCPO patch for hubby’s coat that has all his Ship patches on it.
Grands and Great Grands will get $25 gift cards. I’m not shopping at anti-CHRISTMAS happy holiday stores.
