He was writing about Obammy, right?

Interpret it this way...
Goldwater was the Republican nominee.

Ted's great, but Trump can teach Ted a few things. Like how to dominate the media and control the narrative.
Trump for 8 years and then Cruz for 8 more.

Apparently the writers don’t know he argued conservative causes in front of the Supreme Court nine times and had favorable response 5 times.
Wonder what significant accomplishments these writers have achieved.

Goldwater sowed the seeds of conservatism for Reagan to harvest. If Cruz could do that much it would be an achievement - except there may be no country left should another Commie get elected.

The truth is, if Goldwater had won in 1964 the nation would be in a much better condition today. His loss, along with those who came in to power have destroyed America. Maybe Cruz is that individual who could salvage the ship after 52 years of destructive scuttling.

Washington Post and New York Times: Ted Cruz is the next Barry Goldwater And they will do their best (or worst) to make sure that is what happens.

I would be worried that they could do to Cruz what they did to Goldwater, I don’t think they can do it to Trump.

Reagan was the New Barry Goldwater. Cruz is the New Ronald Reagan.
All three are/were winners. Two will go down in history as Presidents of the United States.

Well, Reagan turned out to be the “we begin bombing in 5 minutes” guy.

He's been in the Senate for less than three years, he's never written a significant law, let alone one that meaningfully advanced conservative goals, he has no foreign policy experience or executive experience, and he's a singularly unpleasant person, That description fits Obama to a “t” back in 2007, not Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz has plenty of executive experience as Solicitor General of Texas and has argued(and won) more cases before the US Supreme Court at a younger age than anyone alive.

Ted Cruz is the next Barry Goldwater
I think someone at the Washington Post is obliged to turn over the information that leads to the conclusion that Obama will be assassinated and that President Biden will engineer a landslide victory as the country mourns.

The GOP base has been waiting since Ronald Reagan for a candidate who will hold true to conservative principles. In my estimation, Cruz is that candidate who will bring the disenchanted GOP conservatives and evangelicals to the polls. Absolutely correct. We conservatives have been waiting for a candidate we can eagerly support. Cruz is that candidate.
What remains to be seen is will the LIV, moderate GOP voters and the liberals who seek to sabotage the GOP nomination process stick us again with a candidate for whom we can't in good conscience vote. If so, look for the next GOP nominee to get even fewer votes in the general than Mitt did.
