You’re spot on. Trump has used lawsuits as a tool to deter future attacks as much as anything else though. The same way the left does it to financially break people. Trump uses it the same way against the left.

But the interesting thing is will he do it anyway? Just the threat will have their panties in a wad and they will be scrambling to not have any of it to go forward. The other thing is he is not an elected official, yet, and is still a private citizen.

- Shows other conservatives how to handle liberal media
- Provides free publicity
- Generates 2 to 3 point bump in polls
- Strengthens his reputation as The Man With Steel Balls
- Future hesitation by liberal media to lie about him
- Did I already mention more free publicity?
