Agreed. It's much worse than most in the US are likely aware, and the fault falls primarily at the feet of the political class there (i.e., the same people shoving more immigration down the people's throats). Unemployment in Italy has recently improved, but youth unemployment there (to age of 24) is >40%, and a lot of the employed are working part-time. The Italian Parliament, however, has 945 elected members, for a country that is small enough to fit inside Alaska six times. Corruption and self-interest in the political class - a huge problem for Europe (and the US).
