Hoping everyone is having a Blessed Thanksgiving!

We have much to be thankful for. We thank God for this blessed day and this bountiful earth and for all His wondrous creations. We thank God for our families and friends and pray for their health, happiness and well-being. We thank God for our nation and our freedom and our leaders and our troops who sacrifice so much to keep us free, and we pray for them and their families.

And we thank God for our many FRiends on Free Republic and for your love for God, family, country, freedom. Our continued faith in God and freedom and mankind will see us through our current national nightmares. This too shall pass. With God all things are possible.

Thank you all very much for your participation, your prayers and for your loyal support, and may freedom long ring!

God bless.

We have lots to be thankful for.

One thing we are seldom thankful for are the problems in our life. This came through my inbox and I wanted to share it with you, my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Be thankful for the problems in our life.

1. God uses problems to DIRECT you. Sometimes God must light a fire under you to get you moving. Problems often point us in a new direction and motivate us to change. Is God trying to get your attention? Sometimes it takes a painful situation to make us change our ways. "Blows and wounds scrub away evil, and beatings purge the inmost being." Proverbs 20:30

2. God uses problems to INSPECT you. People are like tea bags . . . if you want to know what’s inside them, just drop them into hot water! Has God ever tested your faith with a problem? What do problems reveal about you? When you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy, because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience. "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." James 1:2-3

3. God uses problems to CORRECT you. Some lessons we learn only through pain and failure. It's likely that as a child your parents told you not to touch a hot stove. But you probably learned by being burned. Sometimes we only learn the value of something - health, money, a relationship by losing it. It was the best thing that could have happened to me, for it taught me to pay attention to your laws. "It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees. The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold." Psalm 119:71-72

4. God uses problems to PROTECT you. A problem can be a blessing in disguise if it prevents you from being harmed by something more serious. Last year a friend was fired for refusing to do something unethical that his boss had asked him to do. His unemployment was a problem but it saved him from being convicted and sent to prison a year later when management's actions were eventually discovered. You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good. "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives." Genesis 50:20

5. God uses problems to PERFECT you. Problems, when responded to correctly, are character builders. God is far more interested in your character than your comfort. Your relationship to God and your character are the only two things you’re going to take with you into eternity. We can rejoice when we run into problems . . . they help us learn to be patient. And patience develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady. "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope." Romans 5:3-4

Here’s the point: God is at work in your life even when you do not recognize it or understand it. By reading these 5 Lessons of God, be mindful to ask why have you endured a situation. If ANY situation exists and YOU can see no way out, pause, meditate, and ask God to show you the way out. (WORK, HOME, SCHOOL, the interstate, ANYWHERE). Sometimes the lesson can be one of patience, so be receptive to ALL Gods ways. God will show you. Have faith in the outcome of God’s work. God does all things in our life to strengthen us. We are His children. Each road we journey is a lesson for life. If you continually seek understanding from life, you can be receptive of its lesson.

I just found a few minutes from our Thanksgiving activities to get on line. A happy and blessed Thanksgiving to you, and to all Freepers. My wife organized a smaller family dinner this year, only about 25 chairs at the tables.

A Happy Thanksgiving to you and to your lovely family, Jim.

Will be here 17 years on Dec. 30th, lurked a few months before that also.

I am thankful for this site, and for the many Freepers who so gladly and readily share their knowledge, insights and humor on a daily basis.

Thanks for your vision of an Internet based meeting place almost 20 years ago—a place that has secured a place in the political history books for its influence on events.

We are indeed blessed.

And America is still blessed. God is not finished with her yet.

I pray that we all will be part of getting the ship of state onto the right course in 2016.

God bless America.

I have lurked here for several years. As an active duty Army Officer, I felt uncomfortable posting, however I frequently found intellectual refuge here from the chaos this administration has unleashed upon our liberties.

Now that I am retiring, and consequently free to actively vent my opinion, I wanted to personally thank you for this forum. I consider this the best news aggregation site on the web, and I find the community here to be a great source of information, and on occasion, frustration, but always worth my time.

Dearest Jim,

Thank you so much, Sweetie Pie, for providing our reason, the space and place where we all call "home"! Without you and your genius, there would be no Free Republic and none of us would know one another!

"We are FReepers and We're on a Mission from God."

God bless and Keep everyone here and everyone we hold precious.
