Actually at this point it is more like Poker, which is a multi-player game that requires the ability to manipulate your opponents perception of which pieces you actually have. Captain Kirk was right.

Cruz is playing Chess, too, only Trump gets to start out with more pieces. I am a Cruz supporter first, but the reason Trump is going to win is that his media influence and savvy gives him the power to control the narrative in the election.
Over the next 8 years, I think Trump will teach Cruz how to do that.
Trump has been developing that skillset for a long time now. Trump is probably the best in the world at controlling the media narrative.
