...Two demands specific to the campus were the implementation of the Survivor Bill of Rights and mandatory adherence to the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement, which were introduced by the Coalition to End Rape Culture and Students for Justice in Palestine, respectively...
Going from an issue such as rape culture and the problems associated with it at UMass and bettering our accommodations for transgender students, I just couldnât understand how BDS fell into the same category...
Attending the Million Student March was the first time Iâve ever personally felt uncomfortable being somewhere because of my identity. As a pro-Israel student on campus, I have always accepted the fact that some of my friends might not be on my side, and I am aware that Iâm not going to sway everyone to share my beliefs. However, last Thursday was the first time I felt that I should have to hide the fact that I am a strong believer and supporter of the state of Israel.
Hearing students at the march chant, âNo more pennies no more dimes, no more funding Israelâs crimesâ made me want to leave the march because the feeling that gave me was far worse than the good feeling I got from supporting my peers in other groups and standing up fro my right for free education...

You have a right to steal other's money?
He felt bad just because they were shouting, “Juden raus!”?? He needs to get over that. What harm can possibly come from such college hijinks?
If you are pro-Israel, you have no business being with the left. That should be your clue that their other causes are not as righteous as they appear either.
Maybe she should stop being stupid as a general policy.
“If you are pro-Israel, you have no business being with the left”
But daddy is on the left, and he’s Old School........
“So she believes that there is such a thing as “rape culture”, that there is such a thing as “transgender rights””
Ask a lefty what transgender rights is and their heads explode. They have no clue what they are saying. My lovely daughter, who likes to claim bisexuality in order to get a reaction from us (we don’t engage her) tried to explain it to me. After 5 minutes of nonsensical talk I asked her a simple question. How are transgenders discriminated against? She had no answer.
She is honest. She didn’t cook up an outrageous lie for you.
Yep, he lost me right there.
Ed Koch famously said Jews would have to be crazy to support Jesse Jackson. Barack Obama’s thinly veiled antisemitism makes Jesse Jackson look like Oskar Schindler.
He has NO right to free education, other than the free education he received while learning what vile individuals were in the group w/ which he was associating.
When you go out into the world, a lot of your prejudices dissolve.
We sure don’t want any of your little feeling hurt....
Letter to the editor: Students for Justice in Palestine respond to a previous op-ed

To the editor:
In an op-ed published last week, âUncomfortable on my own campus,â Nov. 18, Carly Korman wrote of her dismay that Students for Justice in Palestine was included in last weekâs powerful Million Student March. We feel the need to correct some glaring inaccuracies in her piece that misrepresent and slander our group.
She stated that, âthe overall goal of (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) is to eliminate Israel as the state of the Jewish people.â This is incorrect. In 2005, Palestinian civil society â including over 170 Palestinian organizations â issued a global call to people of conscience to boycott, divest from and sanction Israel for its myriad human rights abuses. The call for BDS outlines three specific demands of Israel:
End its occupation and colonization of all Arab lands occupied in June 1967 and dismantle the Apartheid Wall.
Recognize the fundamental rights of the Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel to full equality.
Respect, protect and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties as stipulated in UN Resolution 194.
As can be seen, neither BDS nor SJP call for the destruction of Israel.
She also claimed that BDS targets her as a pro-Israel individual. Again, this is not the case. BDS targets institutions that perpetuate the occupation and oppression of Palestinians, not individuals. For example, we are currently campaigning for the removal of Sabra products from campus retail stores. Sabra is a company that invests in and supports the Golani Brigade of the Israel Defense Forces, whose human rights abuses have been extensively documented and include arbitrary murders, evictions and arrests of children.
Our enthusiastic participation in the Million Student March is a result of our long-standing solidarity with all struggles for justice. We look forward to continuing our work for human rights and equality for all.
Signed,
UMass Amherst Students for Justice in Palestine
Read the comments. Most are pro-Israel surprisingly.

She should sue- after all- the constitution was, according to liberals, created to protect our delicate feelings-
