as an aside:
The Washington Times web site is rife with popups, video ads, and other distractions that make you not want to read it!!
Hey "new media" directors at WashTimes: tone it down. I really hate going to your site any more. Too much CLUTTER.

Washington Times has become a poster child for HOW NOT to publish a newspaper on line.

I use Ad Blocker Plus in my Chrome browser and other blockers in other browsers. No popups, but embedded videos still show up and need to be stopped.
Makes most any newspaper very readable.

Install “Adblock plus” (or any similar app) on your web browser. I went to the site, no popups, no video.
Warning, though, some sites are starting to add software to detect when you block their ads, and block the content until you unblock their ads.

Try “Ad Block”. I didn’t get any pop ups.

I hate those popup sites! It is even worse on an iPad

I couldn’t finish the article for the pop ups and constant refreshing. For some that are on limited data plans thats an expensive article.
I wonder why she did not report the threat to the police. As a law student I would also take out a protective order against the student making the threat. That would look good on his legal resume!

I concur. I tend to avoid websites that are rife with pop up ads. I’m adding the Washington Times to that list.
