BREAKING: Downed Russian Jet May Spark World War – “This Could Be Catastrophic”
LibertyNews.com ^ | 11/24/2015 | Eric Odom

For some reason mainstream media is slow to catch up on this but we here at LibertyNEWS.com believe this situation could explode into global world war. For those who don’t yet know, a Turkish fighter jet fired a rocket at a Russian warplane, bringing the plane down and killing the pilot (another may be in enemy hands).

Click here for the story on LibertyNEWS.com.

Turkey claims the Russian warplane crossed into Turkey’s airspace, a violation that warranted the extreme action. Make no mistake about it, this could be viewed as an act of war. An act of war committed by both sides of the situation.

What makes the scenario extremely dangerous is that Turkey is a NATO country. And according to Article 5 of the NATO Charter, any NATO nation who is attacked must be defended by all members of NATO.

In essence, if Russia retaliates, the United States and Europe must go to war with Russia.

Here’s the exact language from Article 5.

“The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all and consequently they agree that, if such an armed attack occurs, each of them, in exercise of the right of individual or collective self-defence recognized by Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, will assist the Party or Parties so attacked by taking forthwith, individually and in concert with the other Parties, such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area.

Any such armed attack and all measures taken as a result thereof shall immediately be reported to the Security Council. Such measures shall be terminated when the Security Council has taken the measures necessary to restore and maintain international peace and security.”

What Russia’s response will be is unknown. That said, Putin is saying he will not tolerate any attack on Russia’s military.

LibertyNEWS.com’s Jenna Leigh Richardson has been covering the story this morning and said “this could be catastrophic.”

Indeed.

It’s certainly past time to kick Hussein out of NATO. OR at least give him a timeout.

>>No, we are not required to go to war for the caliphate, though Obama would love to.

Obama recognizes that many Americans prefer Putin to him, and it’s not even a “picking up a turd by the clean end” decision.

He would start a war to keep us from joining Russia in a war against the Satanists of Mecca.

Russia is supporting Assad in Syria, killing ISIS terrorist.

Obama, Hillary & Kerry all want Assad gone, dropping fliers on ISIS warning them of imminent bombings.

That’s what I predict too. Just a sort of Russian “no fly zone” enforced on Turkish jets invading Syria. This is -well- within the range of Latakia S300s and 400s if they have arrived yet.

The sad and scary thing is that I hope we are in close coordination with the Russians still so our guys aren’t mistaken for Turks.

For those that don’t keep up with Turkey/Syria
http://www.cnn.com/2012/06/26/world/meast/turkey-syria-plane/

From 2012
Erdogan criticized Syria harshly on Tuesday for shooting down the Turkish fighter jet, saying: “Even if the plane was in their airspace for a few seconds, that is no excuse to attack.”

“It was clear that this plane was not an aggressive plane. Still it was shot down,” he said.

No chance in Hades of WW III starting.
Obama is not going to stand by his NATO commitments any more than he stood by his red line.

This reminds me of the old Star Trek episode where Kirk gets a disease that make him old and senile and this arrogant Federation moron who has no idea what he is doing takes over command of the Enterprise and things go to hell until they are on the verge of war with the Romulans who completely surround them and threaten them with complete destruction when finally McCoy finds a cure and Kirk retakes command, gets them out of the mess and they escape and things are back to normal. Then the Federation guy concedes that he sees the importance of having the right man in command.

This is exactly what is going on now. We have this arrogant moron who has absolutely no idea what the hell he is doing and things are going from bad to worse. How far is Congress going to let this go on until they remove this idiot? How many millions of lives are they willing to risk? The arrogance of this President and this Congress is utterly despicable to the extreme.

Just setting the stage to declare martial law if things look bad for the Dems come 2016 ... so it will help the Dems - Obama in particular who will remain in office for the duration.

Eh, probably not. For one thing I don’t see the current administration actually being dedicated enough to join in, which makes it hard to have a world war. But it is a fine shining example of why entering into mid-east situations is a no win proposition, not much good has happened for Putin since diving into these waters.

Well stated. And if Afghanistan and Iraq had an American interest, ok. But not one American life to help the genocidal Ottomans reestablish their caliphate.
