Donald Trump Threatens to Run on a Third Party Ticket...Again
PJ Media ^ | 11-24-2015 | Michael van der Galien

After news broke that a SuperPAC supporting John Kasich is preparing to launch a $2.5 million assault on Donald Trump, the billionaire businessman once again said he's seriously considering a third party bid if he fails to win the Republican nomination.

[TRUMP TWEET]

Earlier this year, the RNC and Trump signed a pledge: Trump promised not to run as an independent candidate if he lost the nomination. In return the Republican National Committee pledged not to launch attacks against him. All he wanted, Trump said, was a level playing field.

And he got one. The RNC hasn't done anything to bring down his poll numbers nor does it plan to do so.

Why then does Trump threaten a third party ticket? SuperPAC's have absolutely nothing to do with the RNC. They are completely independent organizations that can't even coordinate their actions with the Republican Party or individual candidates. The RNC literally has no authority over them. Everything they do, they do on their own accord.

Either Trump isn't familiar with how SuperPAC's operate or he simply doesn't care. His repeated threats to run as an independent candidate prove that he wasn't looking for a level playing field after all, but for an easy, obstacle-free path to the nomination.

That is not what the RNC promised him - nor is it something the RNC can promise. Every candidate can be attacked by SuperPAC's supporting their opponents, and by their rivals themselves. That's par for the course in politics, and Trump knows it.

What other political party has ever tried so hard to destroy their party’s front runner? I hope Trump does run on a third party ticket. I’ll support him and I hope he gets a ton of down ballot partners. I’ll vote for them too. I want to see the GOP dead.

“And he got one. The RNC hasn’t done anything to bring down his poll numbers nor does it plan to do so.”

That’s a bald-face lie! But it’s like that idiot Liz Mair said, “we keep our donors secret so there are no fingerprints!” Fortunately, she’s evidently done before she got started. Her “Go Fund Me” account raised $356.00 before it was closed. Looks as though Trump still has “The Trump Card.”

“Better if he engaged someone to run vs. Kasich for Ohio Governor, or any other post he ever seeks .. and same for those who are funding the anti-Trump campaign. He can easily make their lives as miserable as they are trying to make his.”

There will be plenty of time for that after the election is over and Trump is president. He will get even. He will hire people at his own expense to make sure guys like Kasich and Boosh pay a price.

Would 4 years of HW been better or worse than 4 years of Clinton?

I disagree with this. If it were a single super pack it might be true, however being a conspiracy between multiple competing candidate’s super packs, it is the republican party by any reasonable definition.

Trump's not intimidated. He's putting the GOP establishment on notice about trying anything funny. He's telling Priebus to reign in the lackies like that guy in NH (Fergus Cullin) who's trying to remove Trump from the ballot so Jeb can win.

He's showing them he's got the still got the leverage.

Trump is apparently surprised that those he is running against don’t want him to win. How stunning. Welcome to politics and being the frontrunner.

No candidate or party has any “contract” with him, let alone one that leaves him alone or lets him win.

Don’t worry, Donald, the GOP won’t be able to insert a candidate of their internal choice. I will vote for you in a third party if it comes to that.

That's a distinction without a difference.

As bad as ALL the Bush's turned out to be, I seriously doubt HW would have had a Monica-gate.

That's the difference.

Ditto for me. I don’t care what Trump does if it effs up the GOPe and their egg sucking candidates. If we don’t break free of them this cycle we never will.

Who really believes SuperPACs are independent? Yeah, the Easter Bunny is real. Did you know it lays chocolate eggs?

I got a question for you what is a real republican. it seems as if everyone has a different idea of who is a republican and who is not. constantly people say that some one is not a republican because they take one or two position they disagree with. I don’t think there is one politician that agrees totally with the party platform. The reason for the political party is to group together people with common goals. The goals of an individual if they think for them selves will alwadiffer
