Turkmen forces claim they shot dead two Russian pilots

Turkmen forces in Syria claim they have shot dead the two pilots of a Russian fighter jet downed by Turkey near its border.

A deputy commander of a Turkmen brigade said the pilots were shot in the air as they descended with parachutes.

Alpaslan Celik, a deputy commander in a Syrian Turkmen brigade said: "Both of the pilots were retrieved dead. Our comrades opened fire into the air and they died in the air."

The commander was speaking near the Syrian village of Yamadi as he held what he said was a piece of a pilot's parachute. Last updated Tue 24 Nov 2015

It won’t matter to Putin. He will go in and he will be kicking someone’s butt.

I hope he goes after the Syrian terrorists. (1) Obama supports them, so we know they are America's enemies, and (2) that is less risky than bumping heads with a NATO member. I'd rather not sit through the whining and stern protests that downing a few NATO aircraft would lead to.

It’s agit-prop....

Russia wanted their own guy in there. The past revolutions were all about removing the Russian puppets, even in the Ukraine.

Your problem is that you can’t see past your own brown nose that is up Putin’s backside.

Russia has been no good for anyone since their revolution. The globe would be a much nicer place without them. One day, that probably will happen but the cost will be high.

I wish I could go back in time and support Patton’s proposal to keep the US forces going east and take them out before they became a problem.

But what’s done is done.

The United States believes Russia’s incursion into Turkish airspace on Tuesday likely lasted only a matter of seconds...

This is how World Wars start. Is there any NATO command and control over the skies in Syria? If we have the Russians there - a nuclear power second to the USA - then it did not occur to the powers that be that they need an extra level of control over the Turkish fire button?

Is there anyone in this Obama admin who is not stupid and or incompetent that they would not have NATO brass on the ground coordinating with Turkey seeking to avoid misunderstandings?

The other alternative is this was on purpose.

Knowing you, I’m having a hard time seeing why your bowels are in such an uproar about this little spat.

While I respect the “seniority system” at play on this site, it is often used as a kind of a refuge by some who can’t come up with a cogent reply. A lot of so called “noobs” contribute mightily to this forum, and some, not so much.

But, I think it a mistake to discourage participation on the basis of their disagreeing with ethereal “founding members.”

The new leadership in Georgia is not pro Russian. They are still participating in NATO, etc. And the guy Shakashvili replaced was not a Russian puppet either.

Bet he sends in his special forces groups to find those people rather than a ground assault because then Turkey might declare war against Russia which in itself wouldn’t be a bad idea. Take out that Muslim government.

Which revolution? The one that overthrew the Czar? Then the one that overthrew the Kerensky govt? Or the revolution that overthrew the USSR by Yeltsin who Putin succeed?

And after the Arab spring revolutions I would assume people had their fill of sponsored revolutions from the west thinking they make the world better.

Moscow has since sought to isolate Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, whose political allies lost bruising national elections in October, handing the prime minister's seat to a Georgian billionaire who made much of his fortune in Russia, Bidzina Ivanishvili.

So you say......

The Russian Revolution is the collective term for a pair of revolutions in Russia in 1917, which dismantled the Tsarist autocracy and led to the eventual rise of the Soviet Union. The Russian Empire collapsed with the abdication of Emperor Nicholas II, and the old regime was replaced by a provisional government during the first revolution of February 1917 (March in the Gregorian calendar; the older Julian calendar was in use in Russia at the time). In the second revolution that October, the Provisional Government was removed and replaced with a Bolshevik (Communist) government.

Any more .....????

I don’t know about billions...

It was not long ago that the Ukraine, and Georgia both had growing economies and few ethnic issues as employment was up and things were better.

That is until....

And guess who is to blame for the internal issues...?

You are on the wrong side here bub... You might want to think about relocating.. If this gets any worse, you might have to go into hiding...

and I am not kidding..

Don’t have that, but above is a picture of me curtseying.

That should suffice.

Georgia was split between 3 or 4 ethnic zones of rebels from the start of the break up of the USSR so this picture you paint of Georgia is false. Ukraine was a mess from the get go also.

Well my new FRiend, It might help you to know that my Grandparents were Georgian.

They fled here as a result of the first Russian invasion and came through Ellis.

They had to change their name and completely cut ties with their homeland because of pro-Russian hit squads who were seeking out those who escaped.

What happened was really just a extension of the communist takeover of Mother Russia and all these things you cite as justifications are 90% propaganda engineered over the decades by the Russians.

You really don’t understand what they are, do you.

Well I do....so rather than try to convince someone who is full of BS and has blinders on, I will just move along .

But mark my words and remember this, if nothing else I said.

Putin is not a good man. He has the backing of the majority but not all of his people for purely nationalistic reasons.

He will at some point, be the catalyst for another global war and all this crap that you care about today, is just more crap proffered upon you by apologist US and Russian media who are but mouthpieces.

Yes, the world would be so much better without them. but that’s not the case.
