I got this from another poster on here. Shooting down Russia jet was not necessary when they're not the enemy. This sort of action is something you do against an enemy. Do you think Americans will shoot down Canadians fighters simply because they cross our borders for a few minutes. You warn them, you tail them and then guide them across the border is what they should've doneA better example would be a Chinese aircraft flying across the U.S.-Canada border while engaged in combat in a war zone in Canada.
I can assure you that the U.S. response to such an incursion would be much different than the U.S. response to a Canadian fighter jet that wanders across the border for a few minutes.
The US has certainly done essentially nothing when the Mexican Military has made incursions.
