As I recall, Turkey is NATO, and we are thus bound by treaty to support them in the event of an outside attack.
This could get interesting very quickly.
Perhaps we can be bound to the treaty the way our government is bound by our immigration laws?
To hell with Turkey. I could care less if Russia bombed them as well. Turkey is more of an enemy than Russia.
