It crashed several miles into Syria. But we were discussing who has legal authority to be operating inside Syria. The Turks do it every day. And not just straying across, but coming deliberately to drop bombs.
Those Erdogan planes are gonna be fair game now for any MiG or S300. And completely legal game too.

The sad thing is that this puts US crews at increased risk when the Russians start shooting at Turks.

Correct on all counts. The fact is, whether we like it or not, Russia is operating inside Syrian territory and air space by the invitation of Assad, which currently heads the recognized government of Syria. Our own Obamunist regime may not like Assad, but Russia is operating legally inside that country.

More over, that Russian jet that Turkey shot down was (based on the newest reports) hit by those air-to-air missiles while INSIDE Syrian airspace (approximately 1 kilometer) and the plane came down inside Syria.

Stupid, STUPID move by our so-called NATO ‘allies’, because if Russia retaliates against Turkey, we are treaty bound (as are all NATO members) to come to Turkey’s defense.

This has the potential for getting way out of hand very quickly, and we have a trigger happy Turkish F-16 pilot to thank for it.
