COLORADO SPRINGS â Colorado State Police have confiscated an improvised explosive device, or IED, from a man seen walking along the Highway 50 bypass Monday afternoon. A stretch of Hwy 50 from I-25 to Bonforte in Pueblo is now open after being closed as police investigated. Police say the device was in his hand and a Trooper immediately took the item from the suspect. The bomb squad was called in to remove the threat. It happened around 3 p.m. Monday afternoon.

As a kid we used to carry multiple Silver Salutes in our pockets from time to time.
Was it an umbrella? A big-gulp? Bubble gum? Must of been pretty threatening looking if the cop walked up an took it from the guy.
The lady across the street called the cops and a couple of plain wrappers showed up
Now .... being a boy, I had in my pocket a ball bearing thing I had found with a hole through it, and I had stuck a string through it and knotted both ends .... and stuck it in my pocket ... I was about 10, maybe 11 years old (my brother 2 years younger)
They asked us what we were doing yada, yada ... yes sir, yes sir, no sir, yes sir yada yada and the searched us (we had about 6 or 7 cans of coke already liberated and we WERE intent on emptying the machine)
When officer Fred pulled my bearing out and asked what was this, I told the truth .. "I don't know"
'Cause I didn't ... I was a boy
Anyway, they took us home (kept the coke, I'll bet) and turned us over to our father .... who turned us over
True story
If that was today the lawyer would cost 50K and the bail set at a mil

or
B) From the KOAA site:
While the person was being detained, the trooper found a small improvised device in the personâs pocket.
So which IED was it one wonders, or did he have two ?
5.56mm
Likely just his pocket watch. This should net him a few million.
Did you know that possession of a M80 is a felony?
I'll play...
Did you know that possession of a M80 is a felony?
Why no, I didn't.
Why do you ask?
5.56mm
They ought to be paying the oil companies to relieve the underground stresses. An earthquake delayed is an earthquake made stronger. The longer the stresses build up, the more serious the earthquake.
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
Oops, wrong thread, it seems.
To be sure, CNN will have this on their breaking news and all the details for us. Or not.
Eats shoots and leaves.
IED? So what device was Improved? Mortar shell, MK82 dud, or bottle rocket?
Hell...We just used slugs.
Look at the rest of the killings reports and the attempted murder of a good Samaritan by one of BLM’s friends.
Nothing tells you the truth about rampant crime in America than these stories and you could be next if you can’t protect yourself on the streets and in your own house.
Why no, I didn't.
Why do you ask?
FYI, we used to play with them as kids. They had wonderfully reliable fuses. I never threw them since I knew if one went off in my hand it would blow off fingers. When exploded in just the right depth of water, would blow a plume of water 25 feet high. Just one M80 explosion would truly wake the neighborhood.
Just life's simple pleasures as a teenager. Glad I still have my fingers. Woundn't want to possess a M80 today; would be felonious.
