I am perfectly able to handle the truth that the pledge was a sham put together by a corrupt GOP. Are you?

“Trump doesn’t strike me as an introspective and/or humble guy that would fair well in our forum.”

In the boardroom he listens to other’s ideas. He listened to Sessions, Forbes, and Laffler.

Getting attacked is NOT the same thing as getting ideas. The pathological Cruz ‘fans’(fans in a Kathy Bates way) only want to be vicious.

Ted and Donald are on the same page.

The more I learn about Trump, the more I suspect the above is wishful thinking.

One of the things that was so appealing about Reagan was his humility -- a Godly quality critical in a true leader.

Here's Trump last week smugly boasting "Ted Cruz is now agreeing with me 100 percent."

HANDWRITING and WALL, folks.

Trump is on record supporting some Syrian refugees in the U.S. on Sept. 8. The next day Ted Cruz went public (scandalizing liberals, as you see at the link) urging NOT to resettle Syrian refugees in the U.S. --

-- and what do you know, but that very same day Trump started backing off on his statement of the day before, falling more in line with Cruz.

Of course, it could be that Cruz didn't make that speech that day until he heard Trump first ... and if you believe that ... well, as PT Barnum said, "There's a sucker born every minute."

"Same page," I doubt it. But Trump sure wants you to think so.

How do you know he can get things done? Because of the pop media culture brand image he's created for himself as "The Donald" over the past 10 years? Sure, he gets things done -- by using eminent domain, by buying political favoritism, and by investing in gambling casinos, among other things. Okay in a businessman, dangerous in a politician.

He has ZIP political track record and judging by his actions. We have as our options a guy with a long political track record and a solid political compass that has been the same for decades (look into Cruz's past), or a patriotic self-promoted billionaire celebrity whose lack of political compass is so profound that he has switched parties THREE TIMES in the past 26 years.

Look, I love Trump's patriotism. I love his brassiness, his bombast, and his enthusiasm. But I hate to break it to you, his is nothing but a self-promoted wealthy celebrity who is a total political wildcard -- those who vote for him are only voting for where they hope his political compass will point. I will only vote for a political compass whose direction I know is sure.

“It’s called breach of contract.”

Yes, it is. Trump is unreliable to the extreme, lives in his own world as he wants/orders it to be and takes umbrage at the slightest provocation (his definition of provocation), and strikes out verbally to harm the violator or sues the violator, of his ordered world. His presidency would be a massive “Chinese fire drill”, a FUBAR. I truly believe this but if he is the final candidate, I vote for him as Hillary would finish destroying the country.

“If Trump should need to go third party, wouldn’t be hard to get on all the state’s ballots? Anyone know the answer? Thanks!”

Each state sets their filing deadline date for the two major political parties’ candidates. However, the deadline date is different for Independents. There are numerous independent parties. Each separate independent party has a national convention in the summer (after the primaries for Democrats and Republicans). Their presidential candidate and vice president candidate is selected at that convention. One such party is the Libertarian Party.

Perhaps this answers your question.

In an article entitled GOP Operative Plans ‘Guerrilla Campaign’ Against Donald Trump* the Wall Street Journal reports that Liz Mair is implementing an effort to take Donald J. Trump down.  Folks can read it by clicking on the link and selecting the article sourced at the Wall Street Journal.  You have to enter from Google, because the WSJ is proprietary.  This back door works for the time being.  Part of the article is also reported in the New York Magazine.  LINK

It's no secret that the GOPe / RNC is apoplectic about Trump doing so well in the polls.  They don't want him now and never did.  They sought to rope him in by having him sign a pledge to support the party nominee, if that nominee didn't turn out to be him.  They wanted to take preemptive measures to stop him from going third party.  All well and good, as long as the Republican National Committee was willing to play on the up and up.

Let's review for a moment.  The party wanted Trump to sign the agreement.  All the other candidates were asked to sign as well, and perhaps this is something that happens every four years.  It's not a bad thing to incorporate into your game plan, as long as you intend to play nice.  When Trump did sign the agreement for the RNC, he was asked what he got in return.  The day was Thursday, September 3rd, 2015.  Trump walked out after signing the pledge and this exchange took place.

Here's some information that appeared in the article that was the source for the following matierial:  LINK

The Republican presidential front-runner met privately with Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus Thursday afternoon, and soon after, came out to the lobby of Trump Tower to declare that he has signed a loyalty pledge. This means Trump has promised to support the party's eventual nominee -- whoever that may be -- and that he will not run as a third-party candidate

Trump explained Thursday that he came to the decision to sign the pledge because the Republican Party in recent months has been "extremely fair" to him.

"The RNC has been absolutely terrific over the last two month period and as you know, that's what I've wanted," Trump said. "I don't want to be treated any differently."

Asked what he got in return for signing the paper, Trump responded: "assurance that I will be treated fairly."

Anotherwords, Trump signed a pledge after he was assured the Republican Party would abide by decency and not try to subvert the process to his detrament, the detrament of his campaign.

If the party were to do such a thing, Trump would not be bound to his end of the agreement.

So what has taken place?  Well, Liz Mair is activating a plan to do a blitz against Trump.  She's very frank about what her goals are.  She wants to take funds from donors in a blind fashion.  She hopes that all campaigns but Trump's will contribute to sponsor her efforts.  Is that what normally takes place in primaries?  Do all the campaigns generally pool funds to take down one guy?  No.  These men all pledged so support who ever won fair and square.  The RNC is obligated to make sure things are run fairly.  So what we have here is a person very close to the RNC, who is contacting all the campaigns other than Trumps, and the major donors to other campaigns.  The RNC is as fully aware of this as we are, and they are not telling the others to knock it off.  The RNC is a silent partner in all of it.

Who is Liz Mair.  She is the
well-connected former online communications director for the Republican National Committee.

There's simply no denying what is going on here.  Trump had every intention of following through with his proimise  If Mair follows through and gets the financial backing of other campaigns and their donors, the RNC, the other campaigns, and Liz Mair will not have kept the RNC promise to Trump.

Then we come to this...  LINK

You do understand this, right? Republicans say, "Don't run against us and we'll play fair... Unless there's a chance you can win." Get it?

I get it! Trump made a pledge to America and he want's to break it.

1. Trump did not make a pledge to the United States or it's people.  That is a lie.
2. Further, your implication here is that out of the blue, Trump wants to breach the contract.  You ignore the reason and push all the blame off on him.  That is character assination, false witness, and defamation.

One FReeper objected to your mischaracterization and asked you to, ...shut your mouth until you inform yourself of what is really going on.  LINK  That's actually a rather reasonable thing to ask you to do.

This is how you responded to that person.

I will not comply! I will continue to engage myself in mostly civil discourse. I will not let any fascist Trumpet censor my grievances and drown out alternative viewpoints.

I find your manner obnoxiously rude and unbecoming. Further your fallacious use of the false dilemma is callow and infantile.

Civil discourse?  Really?

So in your opinion a person asking you to get your facts straight before you trash someone is evidence of them being a fascist?  Censor your grievances and drown out your alternative viewpoints?  Nobody is trying to drown you facts, grievances or alternative viewpoints, as long as they have some remote connection to reality.  If they don't, you don't belong here.  And in this exchange you were the one being fallacious, using a false dilema, being callow and infantile.

Trump is well within his rights to object to a go third party if the Republican National Committee and other other preidential contenders form a alliance to destoy his campaign.

You didn't know this?

Of course you did.

You pride yourself in being an ex-pastor and home schooling your children.

Is this the behavior of a paster?  Is this the behavior of a man trying to raise his children to respect others, not bear false witness, not participate in character assassination, not tell out right lies?  Not call others facsists simply because they ask you to become informed and tell the truth?  Good grief.  Some role model you are.

That was only one issue.  Let's move on pinhead.

If he was holding out he should not have made the pledge no matter how much pressure was applied. It's called integrity.  LINK

He wasn't holding out.  He has been playing by the rules.  And here once again you are twisting his obligation as if it were he who was going outside the general agreement.  He hasn't.  It appears the other campaigns with the permission of the RNC may be getting ready to.  And if they do, all bets are off.  In this sentence you again cast the blame on Trump, when it isn't his at all by any stretch of the imagination.

This is one more misrepresentation.  This is one more attempt to smear Trump.  Is this the kind of ethics you are teaching your chidren?  Is this sort of ethics you taught in your Sabbath-school class?

After what we've already covered you actually want to go there?  Integrity?  Really?  For a guy that likes to act as if he has a clue, you are a real bust when it comes to intellect aren't you.  You should worry about your integrity more.  Once you have that reigned in, it would still be wise for you to take a pass on judging others.  Lets find out why.

He has some practice breaking vows, ask his former wives. It goes to his character and judgement.  LINK

As a guy who has been through two divorces myself, I've got enough experience to tell you you're simply full of ____.  Divorces are seldom one sided, even when you think you've got someone all figured out.  My wives filed for divorce against me.  Were they wrong to?  Were they the ones at fault?  Not necessarily.  It takes two to get together.  It takes two to stay together.  It takes two to split up the marriage.  What some people do that is highly visible, can be a result of things that aren't visible at all.  There's no way to know who is mostly at fault.  Even when you're involved it is sometimes difficult.

Ronald Reagan remarried.  Is he only half as bad as Trump, or are they both equal sinners in your mush for brains?  Divorces are no fun for anyone.  They aren't fun for the person being divorced, and they're no fun for the people divorcing, yet here you are, sanctimonious as can be, trying to make points against Trump.  You say it go goes to his character and judgment.  It may, and it may not.  Marriage is not the presidency.  Ronald Reagan was a divorced and remarried man.  He did a great job.  Donald Trump can do a good job as well.  His marrital problems are not indicative of how he will act as president.  Only a person with a child's mentaility would come to that conclusion.

He is every bit the narcissist as Obama, he plays by his own rules, and changes them when it suits him. How can he be trusted to keep campaign promises when it is easy to say how things have changed and break them.  LINK

Comparing him to Obama is a simpleton's game.  Obama accomplished nothing in his life prior to becoming president.  He was a party favorite because of his Halfrican heritage, and rode the party wave right into the White House.  He is a narcisist extordinaire.  Trump has accomplished the task of building an empire.  In 1989 his net work was -$150 million dollars.  Today he's worth between $3 and $10 billion depending on whose definitions you want to use.  His real estate management firm is sought after globally.  His U. S. holdings are significant.

Trump has a right to be boisterous and self promoting.  Most self-made billionaires are not shrinking violets.  Who knew?  Is Trump like Obama in any way shape or form?  No.  One is an empty vesil imposter and the other is the real thing.

One has accomplished nothing on his own, and the other has accomplished what few men have.  This is one more thing you demonstrate knowing nothing about.

How can you trust him to remain conservative, he was not loyal to his former party the Democrats.  LINK

Do you even think before you punch this stuff off onto the forum?  Ever heard of a guy called Ronald Reagan?  Where the hell have you been?

You're doing your best to slander a man even going so low as to use Reagan's record in your attempt.  That's a public example of extreme ignorance.  You're here on a Conservative forum trying to take a candidate down charging him with things one of our greatest Conservatives did himself?  What are you a GOPe plant?  You certainly haven't a clue as to some of the finner points of Reagan.

How can you trust a man who plays by his own rules to govern by another set of rules, the Constitution, and not become an imperial despot?  LINK

You're a sophomoric moron.  You're operating on a child's level.  You seem to be guided by the idea that when you grow up, you can do anything you like.  No you can't.  You should know that by what you have told us on your about page. Ehtics?  Oh boy...

Trump couldn't rule any way he wanted.  There are countless rules he had to live by building his empire.  Municipal, County, State, federal, and interntional rules governed how he would manage his company.  What numbskull told you billionaires do any damn thing they please, going outside the lines any time they want?  That's childish.

What makes you believe his rhetoric and tone will suddenly become fitting the office once he is elected?  LINK

I don't know if you have to tools to notice, but Trump has anywhere from 200 to 500% the poll standing of the other cadidates.  Are you able to grasp why?
Trump is a straight shooter who doesn't mince words.  He is the guy people respect.  He's like a next door neighbor who gets worked up and says what he thinks.  People love that.
Why would any of us want him to tone it down, moderate himself and basically become just another candidate like the others?  Are you this obtuse in your everyday life?

The press will try to crucify any republican in office, it comes with the job and he knew it going in. Even Trump can't buy off everybody.
 LINK

Okay, then it's your adult opinion, that Trump has bought off everyone up until now right?  Otherwise you seem to be under the impression the press has been holding back on him.  Both premises are absolutely absurd.  Please tell me someone else is writing your matterial.  This reached the point of being self-destrucive it's so dumb.

It appears to me that Trump is the Republican Obama.  LINK

Well that should make you happy.  According to you, one way to be the perfect president is to only be married once.  How's that working out for us Sparky?  Another way is to remain party loyal.  How's that working out for us Sparky?

Okay here we go:

In your opinion, Obama started out with -$150 million dollars and turned it into between $3 and $10 billion dollars depending on who you ask.  Further it's your take that people around the world are seeking Obama's company out to have it manage their properties.  Further it's your take that Obama adopted the complete platform of Ronald Reagan and ran with it from within the Democrat party, winning broad support from the citizens of our nation.  It's your take that currently Obama's company employes 22,500 people.  It's your opinion that Obama worked with department heads from a number of his enterprises around the world in effect conducting business as he would with a cabinet.  It's your take that Obama had to have knowledge of nations around the world, since his buiness interests had to comply with local requirements around the world.  It's your take that Obama had to oversee teems putting together hundreds of millions (if not billions) of dollar deals.  It's your take that Obama worked with a business financial team that was as highly qualified as any others in the nation.  It's your take that all those folks who Obama worked with intimately for decades have now volunteered their time to get our nation's debt under control and pay it down.  It's your take that Obama had that team work with him to get our trade deals under control, bring jobs back to our nation, and increase the government tax base at all levels by putting our citizens back to work.

Do I really need to go on.  You are one of the dumbest bastards I've had the fun to converse with here.  Thank you.

A thin skinned narcissistic who is more media than substance.  LINK

We have spent the better part of 28 years waiting for another man that would confront the press.  George Bush woudln't respond on point if his life depended on it.  Our's did.  It didn't matter to him.

We finally get a man that won't let people attack him without responding on point, and we get limp wristed half-wits on the forum complaining about it.  If you don't like to hear Trump unload, keep your wittle TV turned off and go hide in a corner.

The adults in the room are happy as can be to watch.

He would be just as much at home in the Greek temple set with worshipers fainting about their hope and change in Washington and the healing of the planet as is Obama.  LINK

Oh that was profound.  You should be a writer.  Stick to children's material.  Better yet, stay away from them too.  Children need someone who actually grasps reality to lead them.

Many (not all) of his followers are under the spell of the cult of personality with little to no thought of what such a person will do in office once the deal has been struck.  LINK

Horse stuff.  Very few of Trump's followers are under anything other than the correct impression, that this man is probably more qualified than just about any other person to run for the office of the presidency.

He has real world experience.  He hasn't spent his life in Washington.  He has had to meat a very heavy big line.  He has dealt with government regulations at all levels.  He has had to manage massive financial deals all over the planet.

He is familiar with nations around the world.  He has a financial team that has been working with him for decades.

His platform:

Get the border under control, build a wall.
Send illegals back home.  Vet them there and let them return in an orderly safe and non-criminal manner.
Join with Congress to defund Planned Parenthood
Get our nationals debt under control
Begin to pay down the debt
Downsize the government, close some departments
Get our military back up the the preparedness it should be at
Ger our Veteran's the care they deserve
Change the tax code
Protect Second Amendment rights, hopefully set up a national concealed carry permit process
Put our citizens back to work
Renegotiate our Trade Deals
Begin to heal the diplomatic damage done by Obama
Address terrorism from an adult perspective
Keep a sharp eye on Islamic people living in the United States, under reasoned circumstances to prevent murders, mass murders, and terrorist acts

What part of this do you disagree with?  Are you saying that people who agree with this are somehow supporting Trump due to some cult of pursonality problem?

What part of this is just like Obama's platform ace?

There is one person here operating out of a cult of personality mindset.  Any idea who that might be Davey?

You are the one bub.  You don't know that Trump is different than Obama.  You don't know that his platform is different than Obama.  You don't know that certain things don't mean a man is a good or bad president, namely single marriages and remaining in the same political party.

You're clueless, and in deep denial about Trump.  That is evidence of you being in a cult of denial about Trump.  There is information out there.  Seek help.

There is almost no concern that Trump has used government corruption to expand his own empire in the past and that he still plans to use it in the future.  LINK

List any evidence of using government corruption that you think Trump has engaged in.

Once again, you as an ex pastor and father of five and are lying your ass off.  You are trashing a decent man.  You are smearing him falsely.  You are doing your best to destroy his chances of becoming president using false information and false assumptions.

Does he think, "Why stop the corruption when you can use it to your advantage"?  LINK

Name something Trump has been charged with, convicted, and had to serve time for.

Part of vetting the candidates is to see who is presidential and who is just egotistical, Trump is showing himself to be the latter.  LINK

I keep coming back to this.  Intellectually your are a child.  Trump has many accomplishments.  He has a right to an ego, and he has a right to claim to be very successful.  Your jealousy isn't a reason why Trump shouldn't be president.

Part of vetting the candidates is to honestly evaluate their past history, and take into considerations their knowledge, accomplishments and the processes they took part in or oversaw as a manager or CEO.

Trump has a level of executive experience superior to any other president going in.

You, as an akle biter nit wit are not equiped to gasp Trump and the skills he brings to this endeavor.

You didn't know Reagan's history well enough to know trashing Trump on the same things Reagan did would be problematic.

You really aren't smart enough to be attacking folks across the forum just because you are insenced with Trumps success.

Get a life.

"It was an agreement. The GOP is in breach of contract if they now try to torpedo their leading candidate. God knows. And so do we the people."

The agreement was Trump would support the final candidate and not go third party. I haven't read the wording of that agreement but doubt there was anything in there about them being "fair"or he could leave under that agreement.

I don't think the National Party can use their money to the detriment of Trump - try to make him lose. I say that because the Republican rule for a county chair is he/she can't show favoritism to any of their candidates. That has to be the rule for the National Party also.

There could be PACs not connected to the National Party and those could do whatever they want to try to destroy him. I don't see any way that could happen as Trump supporters are avid supporters.

“Part of that agreement was the republican party pledging financing in the general election.”

If Trump becomes the candidate, the National Committee WILL spend money to help him win the general election. There is no way the National Committee would want Hillary to win, no way.

Liz Mair is not now connected to the National Republican Committee, therefore she is an individual and can do whatever she wants to raise money and use it any way she wants as long as it is legal.

The article says she wants to get money from other candidates and use it against Trump. If true, that would be up to the individual candidates but I doubt they will give money for such an effort. Cruz certainly wouldn’t and the others need their money.

At any rate, the National Committee can’t do jack about Liz Mair or any other individual. Money is free speech.

Trump is wrong to say this is the National Party doing this. It isn’t the first time he has stretched the truth when it suits his purpose.
