How Ted Cruz Would Have Handled That Heckler from Black Lives Matter Differently Than Donald Trump
American Spectator ^ | 11.23.15 | Aaron Goldstein

Posted on 11/23/2015 9:49:42 AM PST by Isara

A handful of Donald Trump's supporters played right into the hands of Black Lives Matter when they roughed up one of their members who was heckling Trump at a rally in Birmingham, Alabama over the weekend. From the podium, Trump shouted to the heckler "get the hell out of here" and told security to "throw him out."

...Trump added fuel to the fire during an appearance on FOX News when he said, "Maybe he should have been roughed up because it was absolutely disgusting what he was doing." Trump also claimed the heckler, who has been identified as Mercutio Southall, was "looking for trouble."....

...

So what if Southall had turned up at a Cruz rally and began heckling? I can't see Cruz telling security to throw him out. Instead, Cruz would have invited Southall on stage and challenged him to a debate right then and there. Cruz would give Southall an opportunity to speak his peace and then Cruz would take his arguments apart. He would have taken a piece out of Black Lives Matter without so much as an angry word.

The bottom line is that Cruz would have taken the high road. Of course, such a thing would never happen with Trump. He knows no high roads, only the gutter. Since he cannot debate ideas, he insults people. Trump is the Don Rickles of American politics only without the humor.

Of course, Trump's supporters will defend him to the bitter end. But if one has to write about Republican presidential candidates and Black Lives Matter, I sure as hell would rather write about how Ted Cruz debated a member of Black Lives Matter than write about how a few of Donald Trump's supporters beat up a member of Black Lives Matter with Trump egging them on.

The rulings that he was able to garner are without question the most important of the last century. Sadly, you probably aren't sufficiently aware of your surroundings to even know what they are or why they are of such import.

I fear you are correct. But let me tell you what I am aware of. I am aware that Iran getting nukes will result in thousands, maybe million of lives lost. If Cruz is a leader, why did he not lead on this important issue? I also know the TPP means a unrecoverable loss of American sovereignty and because of TPA, TPP is a foregone conclusion. Where was Cruz's leadership on that? Oh, that's right Cruz needed millions of $ for his campaign and CoC and CFG needed TPA/corker bill. Put that in your "sufficiently aware of your surroundings" condescending BS and smoke it!

I mean that Cruz is clearly the sole candidate that is ready and capable to lead the country. Trump is a showman.

There is no way that Trump could deal with the situation we’re in; he hasn’t the foundational understanding of why we’re here, or what it’ll take to get through it.

And his Real Estate experience will be of zero value.

How will Cruz lead this country if he is unable to secure the nomination?

Cruz is the only one that is leading on the Iran issue.

Every other Republican in the senate, and half of the Republicans in the house wimped out and allowed the transfer of billions of dollars, and the acceleration of Iran’s bomb program.

President Cruz will shut it down on January 20, 2017; no one else will touch it with a ten foot pole.

Cruz is the most likely candidate to get the nomination.

It would literally be impossible for Trump with his active negatives so high, and if he got in, he’d be beholden to the system to do anything. He knows nothing about political leadership.

Take a look at his tagline.

What is obvious is that children love teddy bears, and Ted enticed them, and their parents, and other parents in Mexico who saw that on TV, that ‘we’ welcomed them into our country.

Ted enticed them?

LOL

Ted gave them teddy bears and told them to leave. He then went back to Washington to write two bills, one repealing Obama's DACA and the other to block Obama's DACA expansion.

BTW, here's your guy Donald meeting with the Dreamers.

That Time Donald Trump Had A Meeting With DREAMers And Said "You Convinced Me" On Immigration

Cruz has little chance of obtaining the nomination. Most people know little about him, and those who do are not drawn to him. He’s too intellectual, too religious and not terribly attractive from a physical perspective.

Some of us may decry that, but we are not in the majority.

You know I caught you lying through your dentures earlier. Anyone that would believe a word you say is a dupe.

People should just take a look at that goofy tag line of yours.

Pure BS

Any evidence?

ES expects those that he believes are “Not as smart as I’d hoped they’d be” to support someone he deems to be their intellectual superior. How likely is that?

ES lies just like I knew he would. People that cannot win an argument resort to deceit. He flits around here spreading BS and gets away with it.

I don’t know how a serial liar still exists around here.
