Bloody Paris and America’s inept president

"(1st Lt. Norman) Dike wasn't a bad leader because he made bad decisions. He was a bad leader because he made no decisions." -- 2001 HBO TV miniseries "Band of Brothers."

For the first time in generations, America needs a strong president, a wartime president. Instead we have President Barack Obama, a limp noodle who sits in the Oval Office; he's mostly busy working on his legacy as a black man who was once a Muslim boy and is today a defender of that religion.

Obama doesn't even have the sense to surround himself with good advisers, only sycophants who sing his praises as Heinrich Himmler sang them to Adolf Hitler.

Just hours after the bloody assault on Paris last Friday, Obama's secretary of state, John Kerry, was giving his practical solutions to the global Islamic terrorists pouring out of Syria. Kerry said the way to stop the bloodlust is to set up a transitional government for Syria in the next six months and elections in just 18 months. Who knows? Kerry may believe that by decade's end, Damascus, Syria, will turn into Monte Carlo, Monaco. But the Bush neocons thought this magic would happen in Iraq and only later found out it was a tribal country where order was kept by an ironfisted dictator. When Saddam Hussein went, not only did the trains not run on time, they didn't run at all.

Syria has another problem: The exponential growth of terrorist fighters in the region has rendered its borders meaningless. Kerry's idea of fixing Syria and arresting ISIS is tantamount to painting the Titanic as it rests on the bottom of the Atlantic.

Please bring infantry

Obama said Monday at the close of the G-20 meeting in Turkey that sending troops into Syria to fight ISIS, aka ISIL, would be a "would be a mistake -- not because our military could not march into Mosul (Iraq) or Raqqa (Syria) or Ramadi (Iraq) and temporarily clear out ISIL, but because we would see a repetition of what we've seen before ..."

It would be nice if Obama were to pick up a history book, especially since he is commander in chief of the United States and is the de facto leader of the free world.

In World War II, British Air Marshal Arthur "Butcher" Harris declared to Allied leaders that his fleet of heavy bombers alone would bring about a quick end to the war. Hermann Goering, Hitler's commander and chief of the Luftwaffe, believed the same thing a few years earlier and promised Hitler the Battle of Britain would be over before winter set in and his bombers had had their run. Both were proven dreadfully wrong because the people of England and Germany dug themselves out from the rubble each morning more determined than ever to fight on.

What any successful conclusion to a war depends on is infantry that take and hold ground. As it stands now, Obama does not want to make such a fateful decision because he wants to bookend his legacy as the peace president, between George W. Bush and next November's winner. I suppose he believes that his unsullied Nobel Peace Prize is more important to him than living up to his oath of office to "... preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

What he has done instead is preach to the American people on the virtues of Islam. In contrast, French President Francois Hollande said over the weekend that the attack that killed at least 129 and injured more than 300 civilians in Paris was an "act of war."

If it is a war, Obama has no commitment to win it. He demands the world understand that enemy combatants are terrorists or extremists that are no way associated with Islam. To hear Obama speak, these executions of women and children may be the work of Buddhists.

A Jimmy Carter speech from the White House would have sounded uncompromising compared to Obama's olive-branch gesture over the weekend to Muslims around the world. Where are men like Gen. George S. Patton with his Colt .45 revolver and leather gloves when you need him?

It gets worse. On Monday, Obama stated he is committed to allowing 10,000 Syrian refugees to come to America. Can you imagine President Franklin D. Roosevelt allowing thousands of Japanese sanctuary in the United States? Instead, FDR interned 120,000 Japanese Americans behind barbed-wired internment camps. Of course, that was a war; and that is the last thing on Obama and his Democratic cronies' minds.

Instead, Democratic presidential candidates like Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are not bothered by the growing Islamic radicalism. The six people who watched the Democratic debate heard what worried Sanders 24 hours after the Paris attack. When asked whether he still believed climate change to be "the greatest threat to national security," Sanders replied: "Absolutely."

Comedian Larry David, the co-creator of "Seinfeld" who has played Sanders on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" would be a better president. Man-made global warming is a theory that is a stretch, at best, and does not come close to Charles Darwin's theory of evolution. Yet to Sanders, global warming could destroy Planet Earth. Imagine the laughter around the ISIS camel tent when people like Sanders say such ridiculous pronouncements. For that matter, Clinton, the shoe-in for the Democratic nomination, isn't much better.

When pushed by the debate moderator during the same debate, Clinton said the fight is against violent extremists and not Islam (it must just be coincidence that the terrorists kill over a cartoon of Muhammad and can be heard screaming "Allahu Akbar" in the middle of a killing spree.

What are the chances that if Democrats elect Clinton as the next president, she will be more like the grand appeaser, Neville Chamberlain, and not the Iron Lady, Margaret Thatcher? America is stuck for now with Obama for at least another year, and the only serious Democratic contender, Clinton, is of the same ilk.

If elected president, she will put America in a grave situation. But the graves will be filled with the very people she too will have sworn to protect

I am gnashing my teeth.

I cannot believe there is anyone left on earth who thinks Obama is “in over his head,” “incompetent,” “inept,” etc.

Obama IS too stupid to be President, but he’s not President, anyway. He’s a sock puppet for Valerie Jarrett, the Muslim Brotherhood, ISIS, Al Qaeda, the Bush Crime Family, and George Soros.

Obama is the most successful President in U.S. history. He has accomplished more of what he set out to do than any President in history.
