A mechanically scanned AESA. Almost like back to the future.

That has to have driven some software guys crazy programming it. Big enough task to set it up staring straigh, now they have to have another set of commands for when scanned to the side. I would hope it is binary, either straight ahead or full to the side, not infinitely adjustable, but that is what the software weenies get paid for.

I imagine they have some astoundingly tight control of the tilt mechanism to maintain accuracy. It probably just hums all the time it is so tight.
