Immeasurably better than the Piss Christ art work. Actually the mask has some appeal as art. However, compared to the Sistine Chapel, it’s primitive.
Sorry, Aya, dear little buttercup. Congolese art didn't improve over many thousands of years. Some cultures just aren't capable of improving and ARE primitive and savage. It's just a fact of life and no amount of liberal gloss can sugarcoat that cold, hard fact.
