Today, Louisianans are going to the polls to decide who will lead the state for the next four years.

In what was arguably the state's most interesting primary elections since 1987, state Rep. John Bel Edwards and U.S. Sen. David Vitter ended up in the top two slots in the Oct. 24 primary election.

Edwards finished in first place among the four gubernatorial candidates receiving votes in the double digits in that primary election, garnering 40 percent of the vote - almost double those of his nearest contender, U.S. Sen. David Vitter, who received 23 percent.

Back in May a poll from SM&O research showed Vitter with 38 percent and Edwards with 25 percent, but ever since polling trends between the men have wavered, with Edwards gaining as Vitter lost.

However, pundits are still hesitant to call the race for Edwards. In the recent gubernatorial race in Kentucky, the Democrat in the race polled high, but on election day, the Republican, a tea-party conservative, won by a landslide.

Can’t trust polls as so many media outs are liberal democrat’s communists pollsters who manufacture false and misleading questions in them and try and fix them to cause doubt to people. Democrats poll democrat districts.

I hear that all the momentum is behind Vitter and the people of Louisiana will make a huge statement, a statement against all the media, all the polls and all the pundits and elect Vitter by a comfortable margin.

Is this Edwards the offspring of the ‘other’ Crook Edwards who served time for corruption?

Hard to believe even the dumbest voter in Louisiana could vote for a RAT as long as the democRAT party stands for open borders and a massive influx of ISIS scum.

You really need to understand Louisiana voters a bit better.

They never miss a opportunity to miss a opportunity.

I think they are going to elect Edwards..

I don’t think that the DEMOCRATS bringing in more voters, and these refujihadis will be voting, will help Vitter.

I have yet to see anything....listening to a Louisiana station as we speak....

Turnout is always key in any off year election. The ISIS attack and Syrian refugees issue has helped, but that help will do no good if all the voters turning out are in busses that have been contracted and paid for by the trial lawyers in Louisiana.

If so, that seems to have helped Vitter a bit. I suspect the "refugees" shipment was more of an extended middle finger aimed at Jindal, who signed the first anti-Sharia bill into law.

Distantly related, according to former governor and ex con Edwin Edwards, who will be pulling for John Bel Edwards today.

Hint: Big families in small, politically active states are -never- distant from one another.

Hope you are right, but list me as skeptical.

These are separate Edwards families: no blood connection, just share the liberal ideology.

One a LA voter makes up his mind, he cannot be persuaded to change course.

“Remember Kentucky!”

Indeed! I just got back home after voting for Vitter. He was not my first pick (voted for Angelle in the jungle primary), but there is just no way I could not show up to at least cast a vote AGAINST the Dem Edwards.
