First They Came for Andrew Jackson, Now They’ve Come for Woodrow Wilson, So Who’s Next?
The American Spectator ^ | 11-20-15 | Aaron Goldstein

Posted on 11/21/2015 6:22:31 AM PST by afraidfortherepublic

One need not be a fan of Woodrow Wilson to be appalled at the ease with which Princeton University sees fit to erase any association it has with the 28th President of the United States because of a few bullies who have nothing constructive to do with their lives. Wilson, of course, was President of Princeton from 1902 to 1910.

This is no different than the effort to remove Andrew Jackson from the $20 bill. To give you an idea of how deep moral equivalency is imbedded in our university students, I recently attended a Halloween Party where I spoke with several Harvard students (one is at Harvard Law while the rest are at the Harvard School of Public Health) about how Palestinians glorify the deaths of Jews by naming streets, schools and soccer fields after them. In response, one of the students told me, "America put Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill." I dismissed her moral equivalency as fatuous nonsense and this ended the discussion.

Never mind that Jackson and Wilson were Democrats. They must be expunged from history for not adhering to the standards of the 21st century American liberalism.

This isn't to say Jackson and Wilson are above criticism. Far from it. There ought to be a robust discussion about their presidencies both good and bad. But The Left doesn't want a robust discussion on anything. It simply seeks to delegitimize the people who shaped American history. When we delegitimize those who shaped the history of America, we delegitimize America.

~snip~

The Left will succeed. Because The Left isn't going to be satisfied just with delegitimizing Andrew Jackson and Woodrow Wilson. Who's next? FDR? Lincoln? JFK? Reagan? Most likely all of the above.

David Crockett hated Jackson. Called him, “My dog.”

And we should get rid of anyone who was against equality for gays and didn’t endorse gay marriage.(i.e. everyone)

That’s the logical extension of all this.

By the way, they are coming for Lincoln eventually.

Without Andrew Jackson, the U.S. might not exist. He was the top general in some decisive battles against the British in Louisiana.

You should have hopped on her for demonizing Jackson while ignoring those who still endorse slavery today - the Muzzies.

If you are referring to the Trail of Tears, I too have ancestors who died on the trek, Ocmulgee originally of Georgia. The survivors helped found Tulsa, OK.

The people pushing this are communists and useful idiots. Currently they target the dead. Eventually they will target the living.

Everything named after slaveholder George Washington has gotta go, and Mount Vernon must be razed to the ground.

Also, every African-American who carries the "Washington" surname must be required to pick a new, non-racist moniker.

(FYI: About 90% of the people in the USA named "Washington" are AA's.)

Moreover, the verb to wash must be expunged from the American vocabulary, to be replaced by to launder.

Then when those tasks are all over and done, we can go to work on Jefferson.

At age fourteen Andrew Jackson refused to Polish the boots of a British officer. For that,he was struck with a sword. He claimed as a prisoner , he was not to be treated like that in the Revolutionary War.He carried that scar for life.

He later evened the score in the war of 1812 by defeating the British at New Orleans.

How many relatives were killed by relatives of your relatives?

They were happily killing each other for thousands of years before Andrew Jackson got there. Why do you forgive them but not him?

Good point, but the living won’t be able to figure it out until they too are dead.
