Louisiana Gov. Race: Syrian Refugee Debate Erodes Dem's Lead to 4 Points
Breitbart ^ | 20 Nov. 2015 | John Nolte

Posted on 11/20/2015 11:02:43 AM PST by JSDude1

According to the newest state-wide poll of Louisiana taken Thursday, Republican gubernatorial candidate Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) 71% has inched to within just 4 points of his Democrat opponent, John Bel Edwards. Earlier in the month, Edwards had been handily beating Vitter by as much as +22 points. Proving once again why early voting is an appallingly dumb idea, while the Syrian refugee debate appears to be helping Vitter gain ground (he leads on this issue 40% to 36%), according to the Huffington Post, more than a quarter of a million votes have already been cast in Louisiana. Like almost every Republican governor, including Bobby Jindal, the man he would be replacing, Vitter has come out against allowing poorly vetted (per Obama’s own F.B.I. director) Syrian refugees into Louisiana. Edwards disagrees. The refugee debate that has galvanized the country this week appears to be the only thing that could have shaken up the race.

Not to mention the rest of the Democrat Party will sh** a brick and stop backing Obama on this issue.

There is a popular black named General Honore who has come out for Edwards. He was involved in Hurricane Katrina.

Only way he is a factor is to turn out blacks. He is old news, and Katrina was handled so poorly no one came out of that looking good.

A black endorsing a Dem? That’s hardly news.

vitter is down 47-43. here’s he can pull an upset. morning consulting did a poll of governor approvals. brownback is the most hated at 27 percent approval. jindal is second most hated: 35-6Ø. everybody in tn loves bill halsm. his approvals at over sixty. dana perino recomends him as a veep. bruce rauner is at a 42-45 approval. pence is at a 48-41 approval.

Haslam’s “popularity” is a mile wide and an inch deep, similar to his predecessor, Pharoah Phil Bredesen. He’s a leftist twat, to be sure, and the only thing that keeps him from implementing his leftist agenda (he badly wants to expand ZeroCare) is that the GOP supermajority won’t let him (a simple majority in the legislature overrides a veto). If he were allowed to do his worst and pursue his instincts, his approvals would be in the toilet.

For the record, I never voted for him either time he ran. I voted 3rd party in 2010 and left the office blank in 2014 in order to vote for a pro-life initiative on the ballot (as we were instructed to do).

I can see why Dana Pee-RINO would be pimping the leftist/establishment RINO Governors to be VP. The only current Governor (that’s not presently a freshman) I’d vote for President is Maine’s Paul LePage.

http://morningconsult.com/2015/11/how-do-voters-feel-about-your-governor/

Some of this data doesn’t pass the smell test, especially for notorious Dem Governors.

To wit:
CA: Jerry Brown 57% approve, 34% disapprove ?
CO: Hickenlooper 56% approve, 32% disapprove ?
KY: Beshear 57% approve, 31% disapprove ? (If that were the case, the Dems would’ve handily kept the office)
MN: Mark Dayton 62%(!) approve, 30% disapprove ? (I call outright bullshit on that one - He barely cleared 50% of the vote last November and remains unpopular)
MO: Jay Nixon, 52% approve, 33% disapprove (with his grossly negligent mishandling of Ferguson and the current Mizzou madness ? Bullcrap)
PA: Tom Wolf, 50% approve, 36% disapprove (the guy is a moonbat, I guarantee his numbers are 50-50)
VA: Terry McAwful, 55% approve, 26% disapprove (utterly ludicrous - if he had this high approval, he would’ve easily captured the State Senate and taken a large number of House seats for the Dems. He is polarizing and unpopular)

Edwards managed to serve in the airborne in the regular US Army for 8 years, from 1988 to 1996 and never once was deployed overseas. That time included the invasion of Panama and the first Gulf War. So that means a politician in a high places kept this creep out of harms way. He’s also a pro-abort, pro queer “marriage” loving democrat. The good people of LA don’t need this leftist blowhard as governor. Hopefully Vitter will be their next governor.

I agree, a lot of curious data. These are VOTERS being polled?

Only 26% dis for McAwful is glaring. And 57% pro-Beshear seems unlikely given results of the state election, his brat only won by a hair. How could Nixon not be unpopular? Dan Malloy is the only rat Governor they have as net unpopular compared to 8 Republicans.
