Libel and slander should never be considered free speech. Bush was a wuss when it came to defending himself and I don't want to see that again, but I also don't want to elect a thin-skinned narcissist who has no respect for the First Amendment. First we had the odd 9 minute Carson attack in Iowa, then we had Trump calling Iowans dumb for picking Carson over him and now we have Trump putting Kasich on notice for running an attack ad.

Furthermore, if Katich's ad is anything like the Club for Growth ad that featured Donald is his own words advocating for universal health care, tax increases and eminent domain that Trump threatened to sue Club for Growth over, then it is certainly not libel and slander. And if the Donald wants to sue his opponents over words or actions that he has said then that is wrong and he is no friend for free speech.

Yeah the Club for Growth ads really worked well. I’m just fine with this, as long as the focus is on actual lies, and certainly if you’re using full phrases from Trump he’d have no case. And certainly, it puts Kasich on notice that he can’t flat lie in his ads.
