OSTON (AP) -- Amherst College has turned on its mascot. Georgetown University is renaming buildings. Union College has a new motto.
Faced with growing pressure from students, colleges across the U.S. are updating campus fixtures that have been deemed insensitive or outdated. Inspired by racially charged protests at the University of Missouri, students have demanded tweaks of that type among broader calls for improved treatment of minority students.
Those behind the changes say they're long overdue. Critics say it's another example of coddling by American universities. Here's a look at some recent changes:

A whole new class of bullys has been created. Everyone knows the only way to stop a bully is to beat the crap out of him.

At least a bit of good news at the end of the article— Princeton is turning on Wilson, though on grounds that he was a racist. Not an admirable trait in Wilson, but I can think of many better reasons to loathe the man.
Remember when they tried to insult whites with the Fighting Whitie stuff. It backfired. People loved it and started making t-shirts and coffee mugs with Fighing Whitie on them. It was hilarious. The liberals had to run away from that with their tails between their legs. ;-)
Giving bullies what they want only makes the problem worse.
I predict a white flight from these places (to a lesser degree, Asian). The only ones remaining there will be gays, feminists, & hippie kids.
Frankly, I’m surprised my alma mater’s mascot, the Gettysburg Bullets, has remained unchanged as long as it has. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if it’s still in tact five years from now.

I am so anti all of this, and I just found out daughter’s boyfriend is part of protest at Alabama. He’s like one of the most liberal kids there.
Uh...you knew all that before you signed up.

if we’re not supposed to worry about the islamic types because the percentage of ‘extremists’ is 0.1% ...
then why do we give a rat’s ass what 0.1% of college kids are whining about?
