Eduard Anatolyevich Khil was an entertainer in the USSR who wrote a song about a cowboy and his girlfriend. But the government thought the lyrics were too pro-western, so he was not allowed to record it. He liked the tune, though, so he changed all the words to la la la. Someone videotaped his singing it (the pic upthread is from that tape) and nothing was heard about it for decades until it popped up on the internet and went viral.
