That's great story. My oldest son moved out a few years ago and has his own apartment. He also had a bedroom full of the usual mean-nothing trophies for all his years of Little League, soccer, etc.

The only one he took to his apartment with him was a Pinewood Derby trophy from Cub Scouts. That's because he worked on that car himself for weeks, whittling it down from a block of wood, designing it and painting it himself, and it won first prize. So it's the only trophy he felt was truly earned.

Yes! Exactly the same with my boy. That's the one trophy he kept. Too funny.

He took the cars with him...except for one. I got to keep his Bat-Mobile racer. Good times.
