Why France will do nothing about the Paris Massacre: Spengler
Asia Times ^ | November 15, 2015 | David P. Goldman

Ignored in news coverage of the Paris massacre is the single most pertinent piece of background: A 2014 opinion poll found that ISIS had an approval rating in France (at 16%) almost as high as President Francois Holland (at 18%). In the 18-to-24-year-old demographic, ISIS’ support jumped to 27%. Muslims comprise about a tenth of France’s population, so the results imply that ISIS had the support of the overwhelming majority of French Muslims (and especially Muslim youth), as well as the endorsement of a large part of the non-Muslim Left.

In the Gallic hedonistic calculus, a massacre or two per year is preferable to a breach of the tenuous social peace. And that is why France will do nothing.

The information in that brief synopsis of the subject really reinforces the explanation of “the difference between a militant muslim and a moderate one” that I’ve seen recently here on FR.

“A militant muslim wants to kill every non-muslim. A moderate muslim doesn’t want to kill every non-muslim. He wants the militant muslim to kill them”.

This is precisely why we should not let any of this poison immigrate here...period. It’s time for the world to start helping itself instead of relying on US tax dollars.

Whenever you read that a European country is 3%, or 10%, Muslim, double that percentage for young men of fighting age, and double it again for the generation coming after them.

Precisely when they’re not doing anything.

I suspect that France will soon be in a state of vicious civil war or it will simply transition to Shariah with Moslem rulers and an infidel population that is either getting out of the country or is converting.

They have to show the population they are doing something but the problem the real problem is within the neighborhoods, the mosques and the refusal of this population to assimilate. Islam is not compatable with a free democracy and never will be, Islam is not a religion it is a military tactic

When will they do nothing?

They may have already started. Hard to tell.

Yes, that sentiment gathers more and more empirical evidence each month.

“A militant muslim wants to kill every non-muslim. A moderate muslim doesn’t want to kill every non-muslim. He wants the militant muslim to kill them”.

While on the anti-muslim side, there are all moderates. I’ve yet to encounter a militant anti-muslim.

So, which side is going to win?

The French have actually done more than most European countries - banning burqas, etc. Further, they've declared a state of emergency and have the military participating in domestic raids, etc.

Reading the article it seems the author chooses to ignore what France has done and only wants to lament that they aren't Israel.

Can you imagine this happening here? I'm not sure what more the author wants.

I quit listening to this guy after his 2008 prediction that Obama could not possibly win.

So his contribution is basically just writing "France is not Israel" over and over again. That will achieve a lot.

As with the Paul Ryan article, some people just want to p*ss all over something from the beginning, chewing people out for failing before they've even started trying.

Yeah, I noticed that too. About France, but then mostly about Israel.
