Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and ABC's Jonathan Karl sparred briefly over Cruz's plan for Syrian migrants during Tuesday's "World News Tonight."
Karl hit Cruz on a bill the senator plans to introduce that would keep Syrian migrants from entering the United States. Cruz explained to Karl that his legislation would bar not only Syrian migrants but any Muslim migrants from countries with a serious Al Qaeda or Islamic State presence -- an idea very similar to legislation that Cruz's fellow Republican presidential contender Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.) announced earlier this week.
When Karl pressed Cruz on the fact that the bill would prevent Muslim migrants while permitting Christians to continue to enter the country, Cruz responded, "Can you say 'radical Islamic terrorism'?"
“We should not be allowing Muslim refugees from countries where ISIS and Al Qaeda have control of significant amounts of territory," Cruz said, "because of the inability of this administration, the inability of our intelligence sources to distinguish between who is and is not an ISIS terrorist."
"At the end of the day, it's not that complicated," Cruz continued. "There's no history of ISIS terrorists embedding in the Christian community and pretending to be Christian. If that were occurring, we would work to prevent it."
"Christians are different in the Middle East, number one, because they are being persecuted and facing genocide, that is qualitatively different," Cruz said. "ISIS is crucifying Christians.

Muslims are killing Christians in the Middle East. I have also read that Muslim refugees are killing Christian refugees while on the journey to other countries.
There is more focus on possible backlash toward muslims than there is the actual slaughter of Christians.
Cruz is very clear, very on point, very patient. He explains his position over and over and over. And the interviewer keep saying, "So --no Muslims???"
Willfully misrepresenting the information that was just presented to him.
What is the toughest question Jonathan Karl has ever asked Hussein?
Probably something like, “Do you think you’ll use a seven iron or a nine iron for this approach, Dear Leader? By the way, can I get you another umbrella drink?”
Oh he is so perfect. I pray every day for the gift of his leadership to this country.
I hate to burst your bubble, but NO man on this earth is or ever has been perfect except Jesus Christ. To call a man or woman perfect is to make an idol out of that person.
leftists seem not to understand that Sharia is also a form of government and not specific to radical Islam.
The Radical part is unnecessary since that makes it redundant.
The obama media working on his behalf never met a Republican as good as Cruz!
Constant interrupting is the “professional journalist” tool these Democrat spokespersons use.
If you don’t have an argument or the brains to construct a cohesive argument, interrupt.
Apparently that’s what they are taught. You never see these supposed professionals interrupting Liberals.
Cruz clearly enjoys these encounters.
It was tough on the propagandist to have his face rubbed in his own mess.
Can Cruz say Islamic terrorism and leave “ISLAMIC” out?
Cruz is masterful in his handling of the press. It’s beautiful to behold.
During his college time, Cruz was named the #1 debater among college students in the US. His skills continue to serve him and us well.
It is also interesting that he edited the Harvard Law Review, as did Obama, but, unlike lazy Obama, Cruz actually
wrote reviews.
