Each year, I and several other Hollywood Reporter editors put together the roundtables that are a defining element of this publication’s awards coverage through the Emmy and Oscar seasons.
For those not fully versed in the arcana of Hollywood, the awards work like this: people produce a vast amount of film and television, some of it awful, some exceptional and a whole lot in between. Getting a shiny statuette (either an Oscar or Emmy) tells the world which side of the spectrum they fall on; this is the ultimate validation that sets a winner apart from the pack. One award can change the trajectory of a whole career, save a network, and even resuscitate the fortunes of an ailing executive. Equally important, an award can mean millions at the box office, or in the winner’s pocket when his or her agent negotiates a new deal.

No it doesn't. Bad grammar notwithstanding, getting one of those awards just says on which side of the political spectrum you fall.
"Fahrenheit 9/11" did for the Oscars what obozo's Nobel did for that award: Proved it was meaningless and purely political.
So according to this article, minorities are underrepresented in Hollywood... which is bad, supposedly...so the writer must be similarly outraged that fags are so prevalent there...much more than the 2% of the population they actually represent.
It’s interesting how none of these morons fret about there being too many blacks on TV, in the movies, or in sports. But, let white people get on covers of magazines that are largely read by white people, or dominate any kind of awards, then the self-flagellation starts.
The only time the morons whine about too many blacks is when they are talking about prison population. Of course, they never say anything about too many blacks committing crimes, just that there are too many of them in prison.

He is right, you know. Sports teams should represent America -- football and basketball teams should be at least between 60% and 70% White.

sorry, but most of the so-called ‘black’ actresses that are considered beautiful, have more than a dollop of white blood in them to soften their features....they only pull the “im black” when going for award shows...etc....and then they can play the race card if they dont win.

They are REALLY pushing a show called Scandal starring Kerry Washington, a black actress. She is a far left, bitter, Obama-loving lunatic, and the description of the pilot involved an angry Republican general who was revealed to be gay. I flip off the screen when she’s on a cosmetics ad.

whoopie g. was pretty good as Guinan in ST:TNG, but after that when she went full-on lefty/commie she became radioactive. She hasn’t done anything more than guest on losers since then.
