A wild fight at the speedway station on Boughton and Schmidt roads landed nine men and women in jail Wednesday morning.
Officers were sent to the gas station to break up a fight and found the combatants swinging crowbars, firewood, signs and "anything else they could get their hands on," and "using vehicles as weapons trying to run each other over," police said.
When the officers got there, "some subjects entered vehicles and tried to flee and others tried to flee on foot," police said. "One dark colored SUV was stopped by patrol and was occupied by Demetrius Rogers and Mennae Boyd. A Second silver SUV also fled from the scene and was believed to have been driven by Elton Dorsey who decided to walk back to Speedway."(snip)
The following were arrested and charged with felony mob action, aggravated battery, disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property:
