Finny, that is an awesome post! I was literally applauding the wisdom and truth you expressed so well. I especially agree with your keen observation of modern politics reflecting a debased pop culture. I’m very proud to count you among fellow supporters of Senator Ted Cruz! I know he would be too.

Take a look at yourself. I don’t go on people’s thread to make a fool out of myself. If you don’t like Trump, fine. You have every right to stay off my threads.

Sure, Trump was right on this, but don't kid yourself by saying that Cruz wasn't on it first

I don't doubt it. The two issues Cruz flubbed are increasing H1B VISAS by multiples and getting played on the trade authorization deal, but he's come around on those two.

Even where Cruz was first, he hasn't captured the imagination and awakened US citizens in the way that Trump has. We don't have a chance to save the nation without Trump's charisma and ability to wake up the sleeping ginat.

The point I made was that the Trump supporters engage in the very same thing that you condemn the Ted Cruz supporters for.

Charisma is a very different thing from limited government conservatism. Having a hit self-promoting TV show for 7 recent years and a demonstrated professional flair for showmanship, has a lot to do with Trump's popularity.

With Cruz, I know exactly what I'm voting for. Nobody knows what they're voting for with Trump except great charisma, showmanship, and talk; Trump has ZIP demonstrated political record and a history of being politically moderate and leaning to the left. He has zero political compass and all the charisma in the world reduces not one whit the risk of electing that.

Remember: The ONLY reason people know who Trump is is because he self-promoted himself to national celebrity via clever national advertising and a hit TV show, and for 21 of the past 26 years, gave more money to Democrats than to Republicans, advancing tyranny ala Reid, Clinton, Rangel, Kerry, Schumer, and Kennedy, for his own financial gain. That is the plain and simple truth, facts that are staring us all in the face.

Name one other Republican politician who has donated as much or more to Democrats for 80% of the last quarter century? Trump lacks a political compass and because of it, will betray everyone who votes for him based on his politics, or more accurately, based on what they hope and trust his politics will prove to be.

Red flags everywhere. Being a charismatic patriot self-promoted celebrity businessman billionaire is ONLY that. Ted Cruz is a Constitutional limited government political conservative, which is far and away the smarter choice. Leave charismatic cheerleading on the sidelines where it belongs.

Trump is the only one who was mad as *ell BEFORE the Paris Massacre. He's told us what he'll do....end ISIS, put an end to lousy trade deals, stop the invasion of the US (my words, not his), US jobs for US worker, build a wall, end common core, stop insurance company obscene profits from Obamacare, etc etc. It isn't just "charisma"; it's that Trump is on a mission to save the US.

Cruz has a lot of real fine attributes. But you know what? He's not the one who woke up the US population. Trump's the leader who will win over a large part of the demographic that hillary used to own.

I can't imagine Trump wanting to be President for more than four years. Cruz should accept that, rather than risk someone besides one of those two being President. And Cruz can spend the time learning things like making better deals, winning most people over, and how to do it without dee- pocket donors.
