Sen. Charles Schumer (N.Y.), the third ranking member of the Senate Democratic leadership, on Tuesday said it may be necessary to halt the resettlement of Syrian refugees in the United States.
Republicans immediately seized on Schumer's comment, which breaks with other Democrats who have argued against halting the program.
Schumer knows what a terrorist attack looks like up close.
He probably thinks we should pause until after the election.

Schumer must be getting an earful from New Yorkers.
On Fox and Friends Steve D. was talking about the [?] 24 coordinated attacks [Paris had 3 coordinated attacks] that the government is preparing for.
Wow schumer is breaking with Obama on this???
This refugee issue could really see a number of Democrats abandon Obama. Obama is adamant that we take these people.in. we will see what happens.
If a handful of other Democrat senators don’t agree with the force feeding of refugees, there could be enough votes in the Senate to pass a bill.banning these refugees; to overcome a filibuster and get a bill to the president’s desk.
Obama would veto such a bill, but let’s have that debate and put everyone on record where they stand.

I hate to be a spoiler here but as long as we can go from state to state freely who cares how many states refuse to take them?
They can just go wherever they want.

You are correct to the letter. Still, we have to appreciate that it’s governors who are finally standing on their feet against this president and his endless cram downs.

We have to start somewhere and I give these governors credit for doing what they can to protect their states (as much as they can). In addition, having all these governors oppose accepting Syrian refugees may encourage Congress to act.
We have to oppose taking in these refugees any way we can. Resist, resist, resist.

I don’t think that’s the word I would use.
Pause is code for cease fire. It’s temporary, allowing them to fall back, get control of the narrative and then come back twice as hard.
