I am a long time Hawaii resident and I strongly oppose this plan . Hawaii has very few muslims and , to my knowledge , no mosques . We don’t need either one . Not now , not ever .
It;s not a joke , Hawaii the bulwark of freedom and American values on the far western front . In the future , in any conflicts with China , Russia or North Korea , we will be the front lines . As we were in WW2 .
Never forget Pearl Harbor . Furthermore , Hawaii serves as a vital U.S. Armed Forces forward operating point for the entire Pacific . It is not just a nest of Leftist Liberals or Unions Democraps .
We have the 25th Infantry Division here at Scofield , to include Wheeler Field , We have the vast Joint Base Peral Harbor -Hickham ( USN-USAF ) and we have the entire 3rd Marine Regiment and ancillary commands . We also have PTA , the largest ground maneuver and live fire range and training area in the entire Pacific . ALL of these are crucial to the greater America’s safety and security . To top it all off , we have 10’s of 1000’s of happily retired U.S. Armed Forces veterans and the biggest VA hospital facility int he entire Pacific as well .
Tell me this is not worth protecting .... screw the rotten Libs , DEFEND HAWAII ! It’s America and it’s vital . To lose it would be insane . ( and it doesn’t need to be injected with un-vetted moslem ‘refugees’ )
We the American patriots that live can and will change this

You may not know this, and I only learned of it this last year, but Hawaii is only a state because of a bargain struck with Democrats in congress.
It seems that Alaska had met the requirements to be designated a state, but the Democrats were loath to allow the addition of another Republican state to the Union because that would upset the balance of Senators and Representatives against their favor.
Republicans worked a compromise with them to admit heavily Democrat Hawaii at the same time as Alaska so that Democrats would not be so negatively affected by the addition of another two Republican Senators.
Isn't it nice how our Parties can work so closely together to make sure they keep the status quo the way they like it?
Hawaii shouldn't have been a state, and wouldn't have been were it not for this "compromise".

Send all of them there. To the leper colony on the island of Moloka’i, and strictly keeping them segregated from the rest of the Hawaiian population, removing all US citizens from the island altogether.
Could hold a lot of them. And plenty of time to get them fully vetted.

Hawaii wasn't heavily Democrat back then. Territorial Hawaii had long been dominated by White Yankees.
Hawaii sent a Republican, Hiram Fong, to the Senate. It was Alaska that sent all Democrats to Washington.
It was only after the Japanese got involved in politics in a big way that Hawaii was reliably Democrat. But people didn't know that back in 1959-1960
Send them to Niihau.
The Govt will house the refugees in all of the resorts and timeshares.
Homeless will continue to get the status quo...
