Trump homes in on national security days after Paris attacks
CNN ^ | November 17, 2015 | Jeremy Diamond

Knoxville, TN (CNN)Donald Trump on Monday focused on national security in a speech to a raucous crowd of nearly 10,000 people, days after the terrorist attacks in Paris sent shockwaves around the world and rippled through the 2016 presidential race.

Slamming President Barack Obama and Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton for not referring to the threat from ISIS as "radical Islam," Trump told his supporters here that it's time to "talk about" the threat and pledged a more aggressive response if elected president.

"You hear the term radical Islamic terrorism. He won't say it. He won't say it," Trump said referring to Obama. "I mean you can't solve a problem if you refuse to talk about what the problem is. And he won't talk about it. I don't know what 's going on with this man. And you know who else won't talk about it? Hillary. She won't talk about it."

If CNN reports 10,000, one wonders what the actual attendance was.

Good question. Anyways Trump has been talking about this long before the Paris event. He has been leading on these issues.

I’m beginning to call it the Rocky Horror Trump show with all the participation. We should codify this.

Everytime he calls current politicians stupid ... we fist pump and chant Ru Ru Ru.

Everytime he say’s “Make America Great Again” ... we all clap to the rythm chant ... USA USA USA.

We can throw rice, bread, ping pong balls, condoms, whatever. It will be the best, amazingly the best and help “Make America Great Again” ... USA USA USA

Sarcasm aside, I like Trump. I hope even voters that don’t intend on voting for him, poll that they will vote for him up until the very end.

Hillary must be leaving a trail of rabbit pellets.

After 7 years of a racist foreign agent as president normal Americans just want a president who doesn’t place the interests of every other country and nationality ahead of America and American citizens.

Trump says he will do just that.

Good for Trump! Only days after the attack in Paris!

Meanwhile, 51 days before the Paris attacks, Ted Cruz was doing the same.

Back on Sept. 24, Ted Cruz was honing in on Syrian refugees as a "substantial national security risk" and actively urging Homeland Security and Congress to resist admitting Syrian refugees to the U.S. on that basis.

And mere hours after the attacks, on Nov. 13, Cruz posted a strongly worded warning on his website that said, among other things, "We need to immediately declare a halt to any plans to bring refugees that may have been infiltrated by ISIS to the United States."

Trump is good. Cruz is better.

Why do they still use that ancient expression of “radical” Islam when even the grand Caliph of ISIS, Al-Baghdadi, has declared that there is but one type of Islam?
“radical” Islam = the Bush type of “peaceful” Islam
We are not at war with radical Islam but with plain vanilla Islam. Sheesh America, wake up!

Oh, I am all in for Ted from the jump.

I posted this because Knoxville is my neck of the woods (I did not attend, but watched online.)

Trump is a good rep for what you can accomplish with demagoguery.

(To anyone who wants to jump me, make sure you know what the word means.)

Wish I could remember who said that in an intellectual duel, Cruz wields a rapier; Trump a pancake turner.

"Slamming President Barack Obama . . . "

Trump should really be slamming RINO-controlled Congress for not sparing the nation ongoing grief with Obama, corrupt Congress refusing to exercise its constitutional authority to impeach and remove lawless Obama from office.

Remember in November 2016 and support Trump with a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress.

First, let be up front, I support Cruz. He seems to be the real thing who knows what he is talking about and backs down from nobody. That being said, when Trump first came on the scene I chuckled. I thought his rhetoric about illegal immigration was great but Cruz has been saying it since before he was a senator.

Most politicians go nowhere after p!$$ing off the press/left but it doesn't seem to apply to Trump.

I have my doubts about Trump being conservative but I sure like a lot of what he says. It is hard to be excited about anyone who has donated to Hillary Clinton, but, if he makes it to the general I will happily vote for him over any Democrat or other RINO.

The question is... will Cruz (be able to) follow through on his plans any better than Trump ?

Which one will be more effective as President ?

LOL! {^) I really love Trump a lot, I believe he is a true and sincere America-loving patriot. I've never watched his show, but I've always admired his moxxy. I agree that he is a master at demagoguery -- he's a great businessman and mogul with a flair for showmanship. Great for pep rallies, but a YUGE (!!) bad risk for limited government conservatism. His "really really terrific" plan for replacing Obamacare, for example, promises more of the same moderate mindset that got us in this mess in the first place.

Cruz is a demonstrated Constitutional limited government Christian conservative. Cruz to victory and liberty -- including liberty from oppressive government meant to "help" us.

Hillary is so often confused by the massive quantities of prescription drugs to thin her blood along with alcohol, she doesn't often know what time it is.

She suffers from Transient Ischemic Attacks, Mini Strokes and has already had a major stroke that took her out for more than six months following a fall while she was SOS.

Trump, Carson ( legitimate Medical Doctor who knows the human brain intimately), and Paul, also a medical doctor), should be hitting on this number by the hour. She must release and entire medical record from the time she became First Lady of Arkansas.

What is the situation with her health?

Did her multiple elective abortions cause her to become barren after Chelsea's birth or was it the several cases of venereal disease she caught from her husband?

Has she ever recovered from her stroke and what are the odds of a future stroke?

Does she have a problem with drug abuse and alcohol? If it isn't strokes that cause her light headedness, confusion and falling, what is it?

The health of a President, especially one of such geriatric age, is too important not to know.

What is she hiding?

This is where Trump will shine, and that Cruz won’t be half as good at. If Congress balks at passing a bill that Trump considers important, like something to do with immigration, then like Reagan used to do,Trump will bypass Congress and go straight to the people via the Media (and by tweets of course, lol). And Trump has that same force of personality and media savvy that Reagan had, m a the more. Cruz has other skill sets, but this isn’t one of them. This is why I say Trump/Cruz 2016.

Owch! By the way, what was Trump saying about Syrian refugees in 2014?

Dateline: Sept. 10, 2015: "A day after saying the U.S. should accept more Syrian refugees, Donald Trump seemed to back track on the idea Wednesday."

DOUBLE ouch!
