This one is by RRH Elections, which is an offshoot polling operation of Red Racing Horses - a political junky blog we frequent often. They've decided to take up collections from their readers and poll races, and the LAGOV race is the latest project within that effort.
The poll is an IVR, which is a robopoll, and the sample size is 359 voters. It was apparently taken in two tranches - Nov. 12 and last night. That's not great, but there is some method to the madness here which might offer some credibility to the results.
From the poll memo ...
A new RRH Elections survey of the Louisiana gubernatorial race coming up this Saturday finds a competitive race, but one where Democrats remain in fairly strong position. The poll shows State Representative John Bel Edwards (D) leading US Senator David Vitter (R) by 6 points, 48-42.
Surveys were also conducted of the two downballot statewide races, which show clear favorites but many undecideds. In the race for Lieutenant Governor, Billy Nungesser (R) posts a strong lead over Kip Holden (D), 43-29. In the race for Attorney General, Jeff Landry (R) leads incumbent Buddy Caldwell (R) 45-25. The IVR survey of 359 likely voters was conducted from November 12th to November 16th and has a margin of error of 5%.

Tiny sample means bigger moe. With 360 as a sample the race is essentially tied.
All they keep running here, is about Vitter with a prostitute. If he would run ads with John Bel “Sloth” saying he wants to take in Syrian refugees, he will win the election.
“Tiny sample means bigger moe. With 360 as a sample the race is essentially tied.”
Exactly. People who think this race is over are forgetting that Louisiana is a deeply red state that hasn’t voted Dem statewide since 2008. Additionally, Vitter is barnstorming in his last week. I’ve heard that he’s got Tea Party support too. Let’s help him any way we can!
He has run an ad tying Edwards to the Syrian problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nS8h4MQgJqY
Vitter needs to use the Syrian refugee issue and the missing Syrian.
Hmmm....
Wonder how many good, upright church-goin’ folk will still be willing to pull the lever against Vitter just because he had an affair when his opponent wants to let a bunch of terrorists into the state?
:(
That was quick. I did not know he had one out there.
“That was quick. I did not know he had one out there.”
That’s the thing about David Vitter - he’s not the best candidate the LA GOP should have run, but he’s quick on his feet and he’s a strong campaigner. I think the gap will close this week. Whether it’s enough, I don’t know but Louisiana conservatives shouldn’t be fooled by a fake conservative like Edwards.
In Kentucky, Bevin beat a 5 point lead by his opponent. The polls are off if they are using the old landline dominant polling style.
He is constantly trolling the voters with his military service, in all of his ads.
That Edwards is just a weasly looking character, isn’t he?
I told you Vitter is rallying, all he needs to do is keep hammering Edwards as an Obama stooge, keep mending fences in the Republican Party (+Conservative coalition), keep fighting for his plan to make LA great!
“That Edwards is just a weasly looking character, isnât he?”
I don’t like to attack someone on their appearance, but I have to agree with someone who said that he looked like a Disney villain.
Right. His approach is that he’s this great guy because he served in the military and that Vitter is just scum because he made a mistake a long time ago. It’s quite an arrogant approach.
I think most upright Churchfolks will remember that God’s Grace applies to those who are repentant.
The sad thing is, there are a ton of idiots in this state that are going to vote for him, because they think he’s related to EWE.
