The French have been fighting the mahamits for over 1500 years. Charles the Hammer (Charles Martel) saved Europe form the invading Barbarians. The Crusades also pushed them back.

Charles Martel kicked the Muslims out of France. Unfortunately they hung around in Iberia for a couple hundred more years.
