Trump just hit new highs in the national polling, and has even taken back the lead in Iowa.

If you’re going to peddle malarky to us, at least make it believable.

Recently, nobody who has won the Iowa caucuses has gone on to win the party nomination. Given that history, who would want to win the Iowa caucuses?

Trump may be very effective as a president of a business corporation, but as chief executive officer and Commander in Chief of a constitutional republic, I have grave misgivings.

Yeah, you’re right....we don’t need someone with excellent business/executive experience to get this economy rolling. What we need is another career politician/government employee. That’s it.

Lol.

Hae you ever listened to his speeches?

He talks about the real economy and the lack of jobs. He talks about reforming the tax code and what (exactly) it’s going to take to revitalize the economy. He talks about drilling and utilizing our natural resources and bringing back manufacturing. He talks about restoring our infrastructure and our military might. He talks about security and ISIS. He talks about keeping our promises to our vets and our seniors, repealing Obamacare, and reforming insurance regulations so that the system actually works.

So if all you’ve heard is ‘I’m doing great in the polls’ (he is) then you haven’t been listening.

Excluding Republican incumbents, Iowa caucuses have selected the next Republican president ONE time since about 1972.

Iowa does not have a stellar history as an accurate predictor of Republican presidential winners.

Iowa does have a pretty good record of voting for the eventual republican nominee.

Since 1976...Except for 2012, 2008, and 1980... Iowa has voted for the eventual GOP
nominee. In 2012 Santorum actually got a few more votes than Romney.
In 1980 George H.W. Bush won Iowa over Reagan by about 1.5%.
Of course there were years that a sitting president was running unopposed.
So from 1976 until 2012, the eventual GOP nominee has won or finished a close 2nd except for 2008.

Dr. Zoidberg: I don’t quite know how to say this. Fry is dead!
Fry: Oooow... [Fry stirs, alive.]
Zoidberg: Wait. Not dead, the other thing.

I’ve heard it said several times that Trump is in all Iowa counties and has one of the best Iowa ops going. These aren’t Trump folks saying that. Of course, I don’t live there and don’t know one way or the other, it’s just what is reported.

Same for getting registered in this or that state. Trump easily beats the registration deadline and the number of signatures needed.

I’m not surprised by that. Trump hires someone to make sure he (Trump) is doing what needs to be done in each state and that person deals with it. Loser campaigns have problems dealing with the many routine requirements, primarily due to lack of money.

Walker was intent on doing well in Iowa and he was until he and the other candidates got Trumped. Walker’s polling and thus his funding stream collapsed and all the funds he had spent in Iowa went for naught.

Trump will blow out Iowa. Trump has been consistently underestimated, and he has consistently won at every turn.

Trump has got a talent second to none when competing and is very very unpredictable. His unpredictability throws his competition always off and Iowa will be no different. His competitors have no idea what to expect and they will be caught off guard long enough for Trump to blow by them and finish first.

He plays to win and he will win Iowa hands down and again he will have been underestimated.

‘’Iowa does NOT decide the race. ‘’

Rarely does the Iowa Caucus victor win the GOP nomination.

‘’When he said he would “bomb the SHIT out of ISIS” I said YES thats what need to be done.’’

There’s a thread on FR with a section of a message by Rev. Jeffress and Jeffress actually repeats this Trump quote. He does replace “shit” with “you-know-what”. Pretty funny. BTW, the video of Jeffres is excellent re a Christian’s response to, and position on, Islam.

People don’t vote in Iowa, it’s not a primary, and “winning” there is meaningless. Just ask President Santorum and President Huckabee.

If Trump is slowed down, after he blows out the doors in New Hampshire, it will be in South Carolina (which I personally doubt), but it is possible.
