What the heck are passports made from? Titanium?

They are found intact after a bomb blows this guy to mush?

Explosions do strange things. If you have unequal pressure on an item or body it tends to be torn apart. But if you have a relatively small item it might be tossed by the explosion rather than shredded. The detonation trigger sometimes survives the explosion well enough to be identified and traced if something like a cell phone is used for remote triggering.

I don’t know how to make a device that could destroy a person and their clothing that wouldn’t shred a passport.

Also two planes and three buildings and a passport was laying on the sidewalk? Really?
