Does the West have the will to fight ISIS?
US Defense Watch ^ | November 14, 2015 | Ray Starmann

There are a lot of things we don’t yet about the Paris attacks. We do know one thing.

ISIS did it.

ISIS and other radical Islamic groups launch terrorist attacks against the West. They say they’re at war with the West. They say they want to destroy us and our way of life. Yet, we have presidential candidates who won’t acknowledge radical Islam. During tonight’s debate, Hillary Clinton remarked, “I don’t believe we’re at war with radical Islam.” Really, who are we at war with, the Montreal Expos? Bernie Sanders made the absurd remark that climate change is a bigger threat than ISIS or radical Islam.

We are at war, but it’s a tidbit war. Our efforts, NATO’s efforts, need to be severely amped up if we are to strike a decisive blow to the madmen of ISIS.

It’s understandable that the US public, the White House and the Pentagon are fatigued from nearly 14 years of war with radical Islam. There is no will in the Obama administration to take the fight to ISIS. Unfortunately, we have no choice. If we don’t lead the way it’s not going to happen.

Hopefully, the attacks yesterday will cause the US and the West to have a shift in attitude.

Obama said all the right things yesterday. He spoke in canned phrases, mentioning that France is our oldest ally, and about the principles of liberaté, solidarité, yada, yada, yade-ité. But, we know he’ll do nothing more than he’s doing now, which basically includes saying ISIS is contained, while making plans to sneak 100,000 Syrian “refugees” into the US, while the public is distracted by Monday Night Football and Carrie Underwood’s legs. What the US needs now is Doc Holliday as President looking ISIS in the eye and saying, “I’m your Huckleberry ISIS. Say when…”

Say when ISIS…

Obama can’t even blame the attacks on ISIS. He probably thinks greenhouse gases did it all.

Secretary of State John Kerry called for elections today in Syria. Nice thought, John Boy, but that might be a bit premature. First, we have to get rid of the bad guys before you can wheel in a team of old ladies from an Iowa Marie Callender’s to man the polling place. The terms ISIS and ballot box don’t really jive together do they?

Kerry also said that he stands with France. Of course he does. Who else is giving him free cycling equipment and tickets to the Tour de France every year? Vive Le Tour, John Boy.

In contrast to the wallflower comments by Obama and Kerry, the Vatican’s official statements on the attacks were quite martial in nature. The Rev. Federico Lombardi said in a statement early Saturday that the violence was “an attack on peace for all humanity.”

He said it requires “a decisive, supportive response on the part of all of us as we counter the spread of homicidal hatred in all of its forms.”

French President Francois Hollande said the ISIS attacks were “acts of war” and that the attacks were “committed by a terrorist army, the Islamic State group, a jihadist army, against France, against the values that we defend everywhere in the world, against what we are: a free country that means something to the whole planet.”

He said France “will be merciless toward the barbarians of Islamic State group.” France “will act by all means anywhere, inside or outside the country.”

“We are going to lead a war which will be pitiless,” he said at the Bataclan Theater.

Could France actually declare war on ISIS?

Meanwhile, in Angela Merkel’s cloud cuckoo land, she responded to the Paris massacre by calling for “tolerance” towards migrants and respect for “the right of everyone to seek his fortune and live,” as her policy of allowing in hundreds of thousands of refugees came under fresh scrutiny.

“We believe in the right of everyone to seek his fortune and live, to the respect for the other and tolerance,” said Merkel. “We know that our free life is stronger than any terrorist. Let’s give the terrorists the answer by living our values confidently.”

Tolerance? Answer the terrorists by living our values confidently? What planet is this woman on? What fugue state is she wandering around in? What hallucinogenic shrooms is she brewing up?

Is she for real? I’m starting to think Merkel is a Stasi sleeper agent who has been recently deactivated to destroy her own country and the West.

She’s like a character right out of the old Charles Bronson movie, Telefon.

Meanwhile, Front National leader Marine Le Pen struck a far different tone to Merkel, calling on France to tighten its borders.

“France must determine who its friends are and who its enemies are. France’s enemies are those who maintain links with Islamism. Once and for all, France must recapture control of its borders,” said Le Pen.

“Islamist fundamentalism must be destroyed, radical mosques must be closed and radical clerics must be expelled. French terrorists must be stripped of their citizenship and banned from this country.”

How this will all turn out is up in the air. Obama has no will to fight. That’s obvious. The British will do whatever we do. The French are talking tough; for now. Merkel is a lost cause. Putin says he’s hitting ISIS, but he really isn’t. Will he jump on the bandwagon?

That depends if the bandwagon actually shows up.

Time will tell.

The leaders of the free world must draw some inspiration from the words of Winston Churchill in 1940…

“Today is Trinity Sunday. Centuries ago words were written to be a call and a spur to the faithful servants of Truth and Justice: Arm yourselves, and be ye men of valor, and be in readiness for the conflict; for it is better for us to perish in battle than to look upon the outrage of our nation and our altar. As the Will of God is in Heaven, even so let it be.”

Border still wide open after multiple attacks on US soil, and we’re still importing the third world via various legal immigration programs.

We aren’t taking this seriously. All except one GOP presidential candidate couldn’t care less.

The battle can be won with balloons, sympathy cards and candlelight vigils. The TV told me so.

The West does...

But Western leaders don’t.

Time to select new leaders.

We’re in pretty sad shape as a country but I say yes the will is there. The means, that’s a whole different story.

"Does the West have the Will to Fight ISIS?"

The people do but the corrupt leaders who are paid by the islamics in many ways can see no personal enrichment in it.

It took a couple of these to stop the fanatical Nazi allied Japanese.

Do we have to wait until our cities are in ruin before we get serious in putting a stop to these animal?

Most people today have no experience with fighting Nazis. We are naive and think that this is going to go away, or at least not bother us directly.

Islam is Nazism with a twist of religion thrown in so that they can scream discrimination. The “tolerance” we think is so wonderful will be the death of us.

You’re right. Islamonazis is a very valid way to describe these people.

“Tolerance” is word that makes my skin crawl.

They were Nazi-aligned both before and after WWII. Nasser’s philosophy is always described as both nationalist and socialist. Arab nationalism (aka pan-Arabism, cf. pan-Germanism) plus Islamic socialism can only equal one thing.

The left doesn’t have the will to fight against anything except decent Americans who cling to God and to guns. Real Americans still have the courage we have always had. With a conservative president, we will be able to fight against evil once more.

The left doesn’t have the will to fight against anything except decent Americans who cling to God and to guns those who can reasonably be expected to injure them.

Fixed it.

We’re going to need to deal with ISIS but it won’t make much difference to the future course of events if we don’t make it crystal clear to the Islamic states as a whole that they must reform their practices and encourage stable governments to develop in all parts of their region, and if they fail, they can expect to be totally quarantined and left out of all global society in every way possible. I would give them five years and set out a very harsh timetable of penalties for non-success. They have allowed these situations to develop, mainly through their ongoing counter-productive hysterical policies about Israel, and if they don’t change, there will always be Al Qaeda, ISIS and other types of sociopathic madness as a result.

Five years may sound like a long time, but it would probably take that long to see real change in the Middle East. It will never come if we take their adolescent world view seriously. What they need is adult supervision. The colonial era obviously ended a century too soon.

We have to take the battle to the jihadis ourselves, in our own street, in our own malls, in our own places of work. Look at history. They most be driven out of our nation. That is the only solution that works.

If they are used- they will be used against citizens also- as this coming battle will not have clearly defined home nations.

The invaders are being imported to the battle fields- inn US check out where these “refugees” are being settled. Makes one wonder

You know, I see the pictures of the Syrian refugees, the women with their children. I feel badly for them, I really do and it certainly tugs at the heartstrings. However, the problem with that is America can’t see the pictures in the future of American women and children growing up without their Father, or brother or sister because one of those poor Syrian refugees turns into a monster. It’s just a matter of mathematics. A small percentage of them will turn into Jihadis and if one of them turns into a jihadi that’s one too many and I want no part of them.

Give up your religion and then we’ll think about letting you come into our country....
