From what I've read, this band is an offshoot of the band Queens of the Stone Age and their band name is a tongue in cheek name.
Are you an American? That sounds like a response I'd get from ISIS, a 9 year old or some psycho.
They are not really a death metal band it is just some thing in the name. Josh Homme, the cat in the back is quite accomplished.

We do it all the time. The saccharine sentimentality being expressed here is absurd. I suppose you wouldn’t “judge” Gramsci or Marcuse or Marx or that guy who was the author of Mein Kampf. I frankly don’t care what you think. I responded to an overwrought expression of joy that a metal band escaped. Good, they escaped, but unfortunately I suspect many better people didn’t. If that bothers you, piss off.
Yeah, I have never been a huge fan but he is solid and knows how to do it the defunct music industry.
Yeah. Compare a campy kind of band to Pol Pot or Marx. No. I wasn’t familiar with them before this evening. I do know how to do research before forming an opinion, however. I suggest you do likewise.
I went and checked out the band on YouTube, interesting sound. Figured they’d be on the artsy side to be a draw in Paris and they are, but not quite what you’d think. Always liked Queens Of The Stone Age. Jack Black is a bartender in the video for “The Boy’s Bad News.”

The. Name. Is. A. Joke. The Eagles of Death Metal...as in, “You guys are about as Death Metal as the 1970s band The Eagles of ‘Hotel California’ and ‘Tequila Sunrise’ fame.” You know, there is a lot to be upset about here, but their name isn’t the thing.
