I had an idea once of trying to learn German and Italian in honor of my heritage. Italian was easy. Never could get German.

After WWII I used my GI Bill money to go to the U of California in Berkeley. At the time U of C was the worlds most famous public university especially in the science fields. I had to take German language courses for my field of study ,and other science courses. It was a struggle getting through the German but it helped that I had profs from Germany. I earned my B grade.
