Rep. Luke Messer (R-Ind), the Republican Policy Committee chairman and fifth-ranking member of the House, endorsed Jeb Bush for president on Friday, bolstering the former Florida governorâs Congressional endorsement lead over his GOP rivals.
âIâve watched this primary carefully and believe Jeb Bush is uniquely qualified to lead our nation out of the morass created by the current administration,â Messer said in a statement.
Messer, who is the only elected member of House leadership to endorse in the presidential primary so far, lauded Bushâs policy proposals on taxes, energy and foreign policy and said his record of conservative accomplishments as governor of Florida is unmatched in the field.
âJebâs record in Florida proves heâs a man of his word, a true conservative reformer who can change Washington and fix the big things that are broken with our federal government," Messer said. "Iâm all in for Jeb, and think he would make a terrific Commander-in-Chief.â
With Messer in his corner, Bush now has endorsements from 25 members of the House, according to the FiveThirtyEight endorsement tracker.
That's more than double the next closest contender, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who counts 11 members of the House as supporters. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) has 10.
Bush is tied for the lead among Senate endorsements with Rubio. Both men have been endorsed by three members of the upper chamber.
Even as Bush has rebooted his struggling campaign, he has continued to land endorsements from influential members of the party, such as former Sens. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) and Judd Gregg (R-N.H.).
Bush is seeking to beat back a challenge from Rubio, his in-state rival with similar establishment appeal, who has been picking up steam in the endorsement primary, rolling out the support of three U.S. senators last week.
Bob Dole endorsed Jeb because Jeb took Viagra.
A lot of people thought Jeb was standing on tiptoes in a picture. It was only the Viagra kicking in making him taller since Jeb is a prick.
Bought and paid for.
I just e-mailed the Honorable Messer and expressed my disappointment with his decision to support Yeb.
A while back he was as surprised to learn of the dissatisfaction of rank-and-file with Bonehead, so I’m going to conclude he’s become detached from his district and is completely clueless.
Luger was the same way, afflicted with Potomac fever, just before we cut him loose.

I guess with 25 more endorsments Bush might get to 7% in the Polls! LOL
The Cheap Labor Express guys are identifying themselves, time to Cantorize every one of them!
I knew that Luke Messer was as sh*t during his first (the primary election) for US House Representative. His foolish “tea party” supporters told us he was a conservative, but they were just liars. There were better candidates I that race.
Tell me friend, as I no longer live in IN: how is that other So Indiana traitor Todd Young doing? I hope he’s not getting much traction in the U.S. senate race!
“Iâm going to conclude heâs become detached from his district and is completely clueless.” - You are probably correct. I live here and have seen it happen.
Oh dear, this is Dan Burton’s and Mike Pence’s old district. How did this snowflake get in there?
