The University of Missouri took a major step toward healing Thursday, naming a retired black law professor and chancellor emeritus as the schoolâs new interim president.
Michael Middleton, who earned his bachelor's and law degrees from the school, inherits a campus beset by racial strife. He takes over just days after a student hunger strike and a boycott by black members of the football team forced the resignation of then-president Tim Wolfe.
"We all must heighten our focus, improve our culture and share the responsibility to see our university advance in healthy ways built upon respect for others," Middleton said. "I am energized. We need to get our community together, working together."
Middleton , 68, said he had no interest "at the moment" in taking the job permanently.
"Mike Middleton is the best person to lead the system during this critical period of transition, with 30 years of leadership experience on the MU campus and past service as a civil rights attorney," Donald Cupps, chair of the Board of Curators said.

This joker must be a racist, and hard core leftist : )
This is typical.
My large Texas city just hired its first black police chief, simply to satisfy the anarchists. I expect him to be a local Obama.
“Middleton , 68, said he had no interest “at the moment” in taking the job permanently.”
I think that will be no problem. Judging from his statement, this guy is going to cause a civil war on campus. He is completely clueless. “Whitey can’t imagine what is like for poor Blackey me.”
If they think there were problems before, just wait...
Have they started stacking tires and stockpiling gasoline yet?
I despise the word Healing
Did you ever hear about my stockpiling of gasoline story ?
RE: I despise the word Healing
It really is a good word, just as “gay” used to be a good word.
Unfortunately, they have been hijacked to mean something else by the Orwellian crowd.

Good luck with that. The City of Maryland had black police officers in control of their Police force, a black mayor and majority black councilmen and women.
Look what happened ....
There is an article on Breitbart that reports Middleton retired this past August after teaching for 17 years at the University. After retirement, he worked closely with the campus race agitators, and is prominently featured in a video that was recently released. So, in essence, he helped in running off his predecessor.
Surprised they did not go for Jesse Jackson or the rev (small r) Sharpton.

Have these folks ever been in academia?
There will be a use for future Mo parchments, ...in portable outhouses.
"..shocked I tell ya"
Maybe he'll take after that Milwaukee sheriff?
I haven't. I'll bite. (Covering head)
If only Vegas was taking Odds, all of us FReepers would be counting our winnings.
The last two Mizzou presidents came from business, not academia.
