Trump takes off gloves, rails on Carson

Donald Trump has apparently removed his gloves and gone full frontal assault on his leading competitor for the presidential seat, former neurosurgeon Ben Carson.

On CNN’s “Erin Burnett Out Front,” he referenced Carson’s 1990 memoirs, “Gifted Hands,” and said “it’s in [his] book that he’s got a pathological temper,” he said.

Carson wrote in his autobiography years ago his violent behavior in his youth was due to a “disease” and a “pathological temper” that caused him to hit one friend with a rock, attempt to stab another with a knife. He also wrote he tried to hit his mother with a hammer.

Trump went on, the Hill reported: “That’s a big problem because you don’t cure that. As an example: child molesting. You don’t cure these people. You don’t cure a child molester. There’s no cure for it. Pathological, there’s no cure for that. I’m not bringing up anything that’s not in his book. … When he says he’s pathological – and he says that in the book, I don’t say that – and again, I’m not saying anything. I’m not saying anything other than pathological is a very serious disease.”

Can the Republican Party save itself? Richard Viguerie has the prescription in “Takeover.”

CNN’s host asked him directly if he thought Carson had left his temper in the past.

And Trump’s reply?

“I just don’t know. He’s saying, ‘These things happen and therefore I have credibility.’ And what I’m saying is, I’d rather have them if they didn’t happen. I don’t want somebody who hit somebody in the face with a padlock.”

Although Trump may have cracked open a Bible once or twice, he seems to be unfamiliar with the concept of a religious conversion.

I don't see this playing well in Iowa.

Trump's clock is winding down. Under pressure, the cracks begin to emerge. It's been entertaining and he served a good purpose in calling out the press but the blustering, boorish retorts and attempts to subliminally smear "fellow conservatives" is showing his true liberal ideology.

Well, I've heard others call him a rapist but I've never said that but I think, hmm... why are they saying that about him?...

Seriously, you are being played. It's time for Trump supporters to start looking at their second choice.

You don't get it, there is not 2nd choice. The ruling elite, GOPe, Dems, & media are in charge. There's been a breach in their wall with Trump but if he's gone, we're gone. It would take something phenomenal to turn this country back around, to fight the money, billions and billions for amnesty and trade deals.

There is no 2nd choice.

” Nowhere did Carson make that claim”

He said that he’d had sex with only his wife.

If Trump wants to attack Carson about his tax proposal, his immigration plan, his plans for the military

I happen to think that Carson is a joke of a candidate, not least because he articulates his policy positions so vaguely that there's nothing concrete to criticize or attack other than the lack of substance itself. Of course, policy details aren't exactly Trump's strength either.

Regardless, Trump definitely jumped the shark with this rant, not so much with his personal attacks on Carson, as by calling the people of Iowa "stupid" for supporting Carson. He's not going to win over a lot of Carson supporters (or Iowans in general) by calling them idiots.

Point taken, but just because Carson states something doesn’t mean it’s true. This guy is not what he seems and Trump is not careless enough to go on his tirade for no reason whatsoever. However, we know you are a Trump hater, so we’ll see where this all goes.

You say: “Almost like he had been lied to or deceived, like there is something else out there. I have not seen him attack any of the other candidates quite that way.”

Trump trumpets his reason for attacking Carson at the very beginning of his rant. Take off the ear muffs.

He’s FURIOUS that Carson is still polling high and close to him. He’s furious with the press, with the people of the state, “How stupid are the people of Iowa. How stupid are the people of this country...” . someone else is getting attention and a consummate narcissist can’t Take it. And if he and the media manage to sink Carson - the next one in line that gets close to him will be attacked with the same erratic fury...

Take note that the audience were taken aback - very little enthusiasm/tepid applause ..

It’s bad enough that the low info people will make every excuse in the book for his behavior - but it’s really dishearte4ning to see so many Freepers make pretzels out of themselves to ignore what’s in front of them; The man is not presidential material.

His handlers have been able to reign him in for a bit and calm him down - but no one can keep someone with such a high level of narcissism in control for long...O’bummer has nothing on Trump when it comes to this. (Do a search on ‘symptoms of narcissism” - and be honest with yourselves, folks.

“I’m first and Carson’s second - I don’t understand it ... “ and he goes on to link Carson’s ‘disorder’ with child molesters - over the top.

He rants on for 9 minutes on Carson.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FI279UvRK9M

Narcissism is a “pathological disorder”

read the symptoms honestly -

- -
http://psychcentral.com/disorders/narcissistic-personality-disorder-symptoms/

then there’s the extreme ‘malignant’ narcissism’ - presidential material - finger on the button?

I see Trump fighting to win.

..using Carson's own words & history.

Carson may need his own Safe Zone.

Today's MSM meme, Trump goes on 45 Min Rant, looses his mind.

Trump is warning the voters of Iowa & all Americans, that “The fork in the road is appproaching quickly”, the one that will determine whether the USA survives as the greatest nation on earth, or disappears like so many other “great empires have done”, throughout history!!!

I can assure you a Clinton/Democrat victory next November will be the death knell for our beloved American nation. Just look what Obama & his Democrats have done to lay the groundwork for the complete destruction of the American Republic in eight “short” years!!!

Trump is our one hope to continue as the leader of the world. It is as simple as that!!! You may not like the way he delivers that message.....but what he delivers is the 100% truth!!! You have a chance to save your country...you can mock Trump as the Obamabot, Republican Establishment media does, but you cannot dey the truths he speaks!!!

Trump has a way of putting his finger on a single issue that is in the back of voters minds about the other candidates. They are thinking it, suppressing it, trying to accept the candidate anyway. Trump articulates it and moves it to the front.

from the article: "Shortly thereafter, the suit was dropped with no further ramifications." what usually causes people to drop their suits? $$$

I believe Trump is up to something and getting out in front of something ... if he isn't there will be a lot of reassessment going on, but I do think this was deliberate, part of a strategy and trump knows what he is doing - be patient.

I understand that you hate Trump and Trump supporters.

My point is that Trump has called Bush low energy, Rubio someone who sweats a lot/drinks a lot of water, Lindsey as someone who asks for contributions and then attacks him, Carson as too nice with not enough experience. All spot on and not vicious, all counter-attacks in responce to attacks on him.

Something besides polls caused this in my opinion.

I agree with both of you. I personally have no problem with the message or the way it was delivered, it just seemed odd.

I don’t like Carson and that has little to do with his “violent” childhood. There is something very deceptive about him.

i lke Trump...but last night, he sounded a little unhinged, like this is all getting to him. Plus, theres still such a long way to go. If he would polish it up just a little bit, hed win this thing handily. He kinda attacked the Iowa voters last night...then said “ i dont care..ill just go back to my other life. If i didnt know better, it kinda looks like hes tryng to tank his own numbers...for a way out...maybe im reading too much into it, but i just dont see him still in this a year from now.

Trump usually does know something. He’s pretty cagey about the stuff he says. I wouldn’t say half the stuff Trump does but he gets away with it. Its time for Carson to go. We are getting down to the wire.

However, we know you are a Trump hater,

Typical response from a Trump supporter. If you support a different candidate or criticize Trump in any way, you are a "hater". That sounds suspiciously similar to the way liberals try to shut down any opposition.

I do not support Trump for a number of reasons - I don't think he is conservative, I think he is a populist with some attractive positions; I don't think he does a good job of explaining how he is going to accomplish the things he says he is going to do; and I think he is too quick to make personal attacks on other candidates, rather than on policy differences.

Trump comes across as thin-skinned, arrogant, snide, churlish, and petty. If I wanted that in a candidate, I might as well vote for Clinton.
