The antics at Missouri are only one instance of a far larger disease. I read the whole article to get the story on this: "where two students scattered cotton balls outside the campus Black Culture Center a couple of years ago". I was curious what was racist about that. She never says.

As it happens, I've seen something similar done. A student I know carrying an open box of cotton balls for a science experiment lost a huge number in a sudden wind gust. He hurried away, to get them indoors and safe from the wind, then returned to chase down escaping balls (unsuccessfully). I wonder how many snowflakes my friend traumatized with those cotton balls. It looks like fluff is worse than snakes or spiders - to some people. I wonder if we'll see a cotton ball attack in the next great horror movie.

It is also an individual characteristic, which can be promulgated to a group only by the specific actions of members of that group.

For anyone to claim racism is evidenced by simply not being of a ‘repressed’ class is, itself, racist.

For anyone to claim that racism is evidenced by well-considered decisions in things like hiring practices based on demonstrated capabilities is, itself, racist.
