This is the kind of talk about Trump I was afraid of. I’ve felt there was a big risk nominating him because of the potential for worse gaffes or offensive statements than we’ve ever heard from him before. We want to be defending our side of the issues, not the words chosen by our candidate. I’d take the chance on Trump if there wasn’t a more reliable voice who is at least as conservative in the race, but since we have Cruz, I don’t see why we take a risk on someone who’s much more of a loose cannon.
I’m for Cruz anyway, but as I said, I have appreciated Trump and like most of his policies. To me, he doesn’t have the temperament for the presidency.
If you think the establishment hate Trump, you should read their discussions on Cruz. They absolutely loath him. The GOPe have billions waiting for Cruz’s rise - and then they will unleash Hell on Earth to torpedo him. Their man is Rubio or Kasich ...
They don’t give a crap if the Repubs loose the presidency - BUT they do care about losing the House and the Senate ...

If Trump goes down, this Republic dies with him. It’s flame out - permanently. We will be reduced to communism. They will kill most of us if that is what it takes for them to hold power. Cruz is not gonna save us, any more than he could as a Senator. He is outnumbered. He’s wise on the Constitution, he’s patriotic, but he’s no Donald Trump. At the end of the day, Ted Cruz is Mr. “play by the rules.” - And that is why he will fail. We a need a guy who will take off the gloves, throw bricks and drop kick the establishment in the balls. In short, America desperately We needs a “badass” - And the only candidate that fills that mold is Donald J. Trump - warts and all.
